Nari pushes the trolley ahead slightly and stops by the instant foods section. There’s a load of fresh vegetables in her cart that she’s been told are required for dinner tonight, but this is the first aisle she’s stopped at that has nothing on the shopping list.
She’s reading the back of a packet of udon noodles when she hears something fall and the sound of someone swearing under their breath. It’s instantly familiar and she turns around the same time that he spots her as well.
“Hey,” she says, surprised but pleasantly so. “It’s - wow. I haven’t -” She chuckles in embarrassment because she can’t quite decide what to start with. “It’s been a while,” she says finally.
Seokjin nods, although he isn’t quite mirroring the extent of her unexpected gladness at seeing him. He lowers the baseball cap he’s wearing and smiles mutedly. “It has,” he agrees. “How’ve you been?”
She shrugs. “Not bad, considering. Busy, I guess. I’ve got onto a medical trial with one of the senior doctors and it’s taking up a lot of time. Plus I’m specialising now so I have to build up my portfolio. Plus there are rumours of a merger -” She breaks off, realising this might be a lot of information. “A lot’s going on.”
“Yeah. Congratulations,” he says after a moment. “On the trial. I know that was always a big goal for you. What’s it about?”
“Um… well, we’re trying to build cartilage through tissue regeneration. It’s a lot of research right now, but it could be really great.” Nari tries to keep the excitement out of her voice, although she doesn’t know if it’s the trial or at this serendipitous run-in with Seokjin. “How - how are you? You look good,” she adds, suddenly remembering the last time they’d met, drenched in the rain together.
He frowns curiously with some humour, as though trying to figure out if she’s lying. “I’m…” He trails off and exhales deeply. “I don’t know, to be honest. There’s a lot going on.”
Nari wants to ask, but something tells her she might be prying. “Is everything okay?”
Seokjin bites his lip and nods. There’s something bothering him, that’s for certain. He looks as though it’s taking him an effort to smile or even get out a sentence. “Actually… I’m glad I ran into you.”
“Me, too,” she says honestly.
“I, uh… I need to tell you something.” He shoves his hands into the pockets of his hoodie, looking determined, and Nari’s heart instantly beats faster.
“Okay,” she says, voice steady. “What’s up?”
He looks up at her and his face suddenly goes slack. Nari frowns and is just about to ask when Jason appears next to her.
“I couldn’t find the seasoning that Daeun wanted,” he starts to say seriously, just before realising she isn’t alone. “So we may have to go with pepper and - oh. Hey, Seokjin,” he says, good-naturedly. “It’s nice to see you again.”
Nari doesn’t know if she’s imagining how Seokjin’s eyes shutter over slightly, but he nods and returns the greeting. It’s only slightly awkward; it occurs to her suddenly what it must look like: she and Jason, grocery shopping together.
“We’re having a dinner party,” she explains, even though no one asked. But she can’t stand the silence.
Seokjin raises his eyebrows, then nods again. “Wow. Guess that explains the vegetables,” he adds, pointing at her cart.
She suppresses a smile while Jason chuckles. “That would be Daeun’s work. None of us can go against her instructions without risking mortal peril.”
Maybe she’s imagining it again, how Seokjin’s shoulders relax ever so slightly. Her eyes fall to the ground then, somewhat disappointed in herself for caring.
“Anyway.” Jason pauses for a moment, clearly being tactful. “I’ll, uh, go ask a store clerk maybe, if they have the seasoning.”
Nari waits for Jason to leave before turning back to Seokjin. “I’m just delegated with shopping,” she says, once again feeling the need to explain. “Since I probably can’t contribute much to the cooking.” Swallowing, she exhales. “Sorry… you were about to tell me something.”
Seokjin looks at the floor. Something is definitely bothering him - or is she reading too much into it again? She wants to ask, but something holds her back again. That’s his girlfriend’s job - or maybe his best friend’s, too, a long time ago.
“Yeah.” He looks up slowly. “I… I won’t be here - in town - for your birthday this year. I’m… travelling,” he finishes. “Sorry.”
Nari frowns. “That’s… yeah, that’s okay. Where will you be?”
He shrugs. “Not sure yet.”
She nods, guessing his tour schedule isn’t really in his hands. It’s the least excited he’s ever seemed to be at the prospect of touring, though, she notes. There’s something else he isn’t telling her.
“Well. A phone call works just as well, under the circumstances,” she says finally, giving him a small smile to try and lighten the mood.
He returns it, once again with a clear effort. “You got it.”

The group dinner shapes up to be more like a group project than anything else as the day goes on. There are delegated sub-groups, instructions, deadlines; as much as a bunch of senior residents would like a day of normalcy, the chaos seems to actually make them deliver more efficiently.
This time, Nari has been dispatched to pick up a centerpiece. She’s alone this time, feeling rather lost in a huge supermarket with no idea what Daeun is picturing in her mind, but a little afraid to ask. Her phone buzzes then.
Jason [17:35]
Okay, she says something in the dusty pink-rose family.
Nari [17:35]
What in the everloving fuck does that mean
Jason [17:35]
No idea. But I googled it and this is what came up

Nari swipes through the pictures and sighs, looking up to search for anything even remotely resembling this description. It’s in this pursuit that she spots another familiar face: Jung Hoseok, in a hoodie and baseball cap, holding hands with a slightly younger girl as they peer at a shelf of kitchen signs with whimsical phrases on them. Just as Nari begins walking towards them, they say something to each other and the girl walks away, presumably to look at something else. Hoseok looks around and spots her just as Nari reaches him.
“Oh, my God!” Seeming genuinely excited, Hoseok leans in for a friendly hug. “Wow, I haven’t seen you in forever, noona! Where have you been?”
“Busy,” she answers, for it’s the easiest one - far easier than admitting that she and Seokjin are too far apart to hang out like they used to. “How about you? I didn’t know you had a girlfriend,” she adds, giving him a knowing look.
Hoseok blushes handsomely, clearing his throat. “Oh, she’s not… I mean, technically, we’re not…” He sighs, looking both red and sheepish. “We aren’t exactly… using that word yet,” he admits. “I don’t want to scare her off.”
Nari raises her eyebrows but shrugs. “No judgement here,” she says, thinking privately that she can relate. “She’s cute. Isn’t she the girl you brought to the restaurant opening last year?”
“Yeah…” Hoseok looks back in her direction where she’s taking a picture of a potted money plant. “Things have changed a lot in a year.”
“Apparently,” she agrees. “It’s so funny running into you, though. I just met Seokjin earlier today, too, just roaming around Food Hall.”
“Oh! Of course, I forgot - but we’ll see you tomorrow anyway, right?”
Awkward. Nari keeps a straight face. “Tomorrow?”
“Yeah. I mean, I know Seokjin hyung doesn’t like the word farewell party, so we’re going with dinner,” he informs her. “We cut down about half the guest list until he agreed to have it but I guess you don’t really count as a guest. I mean, not that kind of a guest,” he hurriedly clarifies. “Like, you’re more of a friend than a guest if I really -“
“Yeah, no, I get it,” she interrupts him. Something tells her no tour is big enough - or long enough - to warrant a farewell party. Especially one she’s apparently not invited to. “I don’t know if I’ll make it, though,” she says carefully.
Hoseok’s eyes widen almost comically. “What? Why not?”
“Um…” Nari suddenly wishes someone else had been volunteered to pick up this stupid centerpiece. “I don’t know. It’s been busy. And I think Seokjin would need his girlfriend there more than anyone?”
“Seulgi?” Hoseok fishes his phone out of his pocket as it buzzes. “Dude, they broke up months ago. Shit, it’s my manager. Can you -“ He gestures apologetically before putting his phone up to his ear and answering the call.
Nari nods, a little dazed. Seokjin’s farewell party - or dinner - is tomorrow. It feels too soon and simultaneously too far away. Her phone pings then, too, and she checks it to see a message from Daeun.
“I have to -“ She mouths at Hoseok that she needs to leave, prompting Hoseok to cover the mouthpiece of his phone.
“See you tomorrow,” he whispers loudly, waving as she turns to walk out of the shop.
At the counter, she remembers what she was here for. “Um - can I have one of those vases, please?” she asks, pointing to a row of ceramic pots behind the registration counter, all with generic arrangements of different flora.
“Sure,” says the cashier, punching it in. “Any particular colour?”
Nari shakes her head. Tomorrow, she thinks and her stomach drops a little. “I don’t care,” she says. “Any is fine.”
—
It’s quiet out in the city when Nari enters her apartment later that night, alone and conflicted. She’s wide awake, though, even after leaving early from an evening of food and drink with a dozen colleagues at the end of a busy day organizing a grown up dinner party.
She feels grown up, but in an unexciting, stressful way. She has to be a grown up, because every younger version of herself she can remember had a cornerstone she can’t find anymore. She has to be a grown up because it’s a grown up thing that’s been weighing on her mind all evening, with grown up fears and a grown up heaviness in her chest that she can’t articulate.
Nari sits on the edge of her bed, the lamp she’d accidentally left switched on the only source of dim light in her room. She recalls how shifty Seokjin had been earlier today and she suppresses a slight frustration, albeit not sure where it’s directed.
Dialling his number, she turns on her bed to face out the window. Seokjin picks up after the second ring.
“Hey.” He doesn’t sound terribly surprised, but his tone still sounds low.
“Hi,” she replies, folding her legs underneath her. “It’s not too late for you, is it?”
“No. I’m up.” There’s a pause. “I couldn’t sleep, anyway.”
Right. Nari tries to recall the last time they spoke on the phone; there was a time when it was a no-brainer, as natural as thinking out loud. She wonders if he was happy to see her name flash on his phone.
“So, I ran into Hoseok today,” she begins, then pauses when Seokjin sighs, almost as though he knows what’s coming. “He invited me to a party. Sorry - a dinner.”
“Yeah. Listen, Nari, about that -” He breaks off, sighing again, deeper this time. He sounds exhausted.
“When do you leave?” she asks calmly.
“Tuesday morning.”
Nari nods, something feeling lodged in her throat. “Were you going to tell me?”
“Of course I was, Nari,” he murmurs. “I wouldn’t leave without - without saying goodbye. I just didn’t know how.”
She isn’t sure why this is catching her by surprise; on some level, she knew he would have to enlist sooner or later, especially after he’d turned thirty.
“When did you decide?”
“I applied in January. I mean, I had to,” he adds. “I really was going to tell you. In fact, I was about to this morning… seeing Jason kind of threw me off,” he confesses. “Sorry.”
Nari wants to ask if this is the reason he’s been distant lately, when she remembers something else.
“I didn’t know you and Seulgi broke up,” she states, picking at a loose thread at the end of her jeans. “A while ago, I hear.”
Seokjin doesn’t answer immediately. She can almost see him in his apartment, frozen in place with his phone to his ear, face pensive and head lowered as he thinks of what to say.
“Yeah,” he says finally. “The day after your half-birthday, actually.”
Her heart jolts without warning and for a moment, she’s drenched in the pouring rain again.
He’s really going. Before her throat can close up anymore and she risks her voice giving anything away, she takes a deep breath. “I know Hoseok invited me, but… Seokjin, if you don’t want me there, I can -”
“No,” he interrupts, and there’s a hint of panic in his voice. There’s a soft shuffling in the background, as though he’s sitting up suddenly. “No, Nari, I - I want you to come. I - I need -” He breaks off, exhaling into the speaker. “Please come,” he says, voice smaller than before. “If you can.”
There should be a lot to say. Months, years worth of confessions, apologies and comfort that’s hanging in the air between them, but Nari can’t begin to sift through them now. This is not the time.
“Yeah,” she says, nodding. “I’ll be there.”
—
It’s a quiet affair; close friends and cool weather, with food and wine and a subdued atmosphere. The restaurant has been booked out to keep it as understated as possible. It’s outdoor, off the main road and the stars in a clear sky with soft grass on the ground make it about as charming as possible.
Jungkook sits on the steps with a drink dangling from the tips of his fingers, his knees up to his chest and his eyes on the dark gold liquid in his glass. Everyone is in small groups, chatting and trying to keep the mood lively and cheerful. Even Seokjin himself, who Jungkook assumed would be in the worst mood, is borderline chirpy, going up to everyone and ensuring they’ve got their drinks and that they’re comfortable. He was talking to Nari as well a little while ago, chatting easily, as though everything wasn’t about to change in a couple of days.
“Penny for your thoughts?”
Jungkook’s heart flips automatically at the voice and he looks up to see Dilara sitting down next to him. “What?”
“It means - never mind.” She stretches her legs out in front of her, wearing clean denim jeans and a thin sweater. “Everything okay?”
He nods out of habit, his gaze going back to his glass. He can still feel her next to him, though, only inches away, her wavy hair blowing lightly in the breeze and the scent of her perfume sneaking up on him. “I just don’t know why everyone is so happy,” he mutters after a moment.
“Are they?” DIlara sounds genuinely curious. “It looks to me like everyone is just trying to stay positive.”
“Why?” Jungkook looks at her. “Why does everyone have to be positive? What is there to be positive about?” He places his drink down and shakes his head. “Everyone is just lying to themselves,” he mutters.
“I mean…” She begins slowly, shrugging. “I know I don’t know much about it, but it doesn’t seem like it can be helped. He has to go, right? All of you do,” she says, making his stomach sink. “I guess… it’s better to face it rather than be sad about something you can’t help. No?”
He doesn’t answer. Part of him is glad she’s here; after the drunken debacle he’d pulled at Taehyung’s house last weekend, he’d woken up completely certain that two of his friendships were most likely destroyed. But Taehyung hadn’t been home when he’d stumbled out of the guest room the next morning and Dilara had kindly offered him some toast and coffee before he’d hurriedly left.
Nothing much has changed since, although it’s been a fairly busy week, too. Jungkook glances at where Taehyung is, on a different side of the garden. A little while ago, he’d been swaying to a jazz number playing softly on the speakers and holding Seokjin’s hands, exaggeratedly convincing him to dance. Seokjin indulged him, his mouth tilted upwards in a half smile.
But Seokjin isn’t there anymore, and Taehyung is talking with Jimin and Sooah, deep in conversation as he pushes his glasses up his nose. In a white t-shirt, tan cardigan and loose brown slacks, he looks as effortlessly handsome as ever.
“We’ve never done anything, just us,” he admits quietly. “I mean… not like this. Not for this long, not this far away. At least, I’ve never…” He sniffles, his heart skipping a weak beat when she squeezes his shoulder. “Everything is going to change. One by one, we’re going to be separated.”
“There are breaks, though, right?” she asks. “Like, you get to come home sometimes?”
“Yeah, I guess. A few days here and there.” He glances at her to see her biting her lip, a slight frown on her forehead. “We can’t leave the country, though,” he adds.
He can’t tell if this is news to her. She nods and takes a sip of white wine, looking ahead. “Right.”
“When did this happen?” Jungkook says suddenly. “It feels like we just started touring the world and performing in stadiums and rehearsing in the big practice room at Hybe. We’re still figuring stuff out, doing things for the first time. When did it get this… serious?”
It’s rhetorical, of course; still, he turns to look at Dilara again, who’s looking in another direction, her face pensive. His gaze falls slightly to see her absently playing with the white gold ring around her neck, hanging from a plain silver chain. It’s the one Taehyung allegedly gave her years ago, when they were still only hooking up once every few months.
Back then, Jungkook had thought it was insanely romantic, giving such a personal token to a foreign girl he’d just met. Now, while it’s been a permanent accessory on her since, it sends a twinge of annoyance through his heart whenever he sees it, for it feels like a mark Taehyung’s made on her.
Dilara’s eyes flicker before she turns back to him and sighs. “Are you all planning to go this year?”
“Probably.” He raises his eyebrows. “Has Taehyung hyung decided when he’s going?”
“Not yet,” she mutters. “He’s working on his album now but he said… probably in a few months.” She swallows. “Fuck, you’re right. When did it get this serious?”
“At least he knows you’ll be here, waiting for him,” he murmurs after a moment. “He has… I don’t know, like an anchor. So does Jimin. And Namjoon and Hobi…”
Dilara frowns. “Is that what this is about? You think no one’s going to be waiting for you?”
She sounds so incredulous that he sighs and rolls his eyes. “No, I know people will be waiting. My parents and my friends and -” He glances at her very quickly before looking away. “But their lives will move on. I’m not saying yours won’t,” he adds quickly. “But it’s different.”
Dilara doesn’t say anything immediately. Jungkook panics mildly, wondering if he’s let too much slip. “It’s not different,” she says eventually. “I know it probably seems like it should be, but it really isn’t. You think I’m not going to miss you, JK?” she asks, cutting him off when he opens his mouth to argue. “Of course I am. I’m going to miss you every single day. I’m going to miss Tae so much I can’t breathe, but… I’m going to miss you, too. I’m going to miss Jimin like crazy, I’m going to miss Hobi wishing me luck before every single race without fail. So don’t for a second get it in your head that no one’s going to be here, waiting for you to come back.”
Jungkook falls silent. He’s genuinely afraid of what he might say if he opens his mouth, even as he feels his eyes filling up. He wishes she wouldn’t leave, that by some miracle, he might be the one she missed so much she couldn’t breathe.
Dilara gives him a small, encouraging smile. “I need to get a stronger drink,” she says, taking a deep breath. “When I see you next, I expect you to be at least fifty percent less self-pitying.” She grabs his chin affectionately and kisses him on the cheek. “I’m going to miss the hell out of you, Jeon Jungkook,” she repeats with the same smile, before standing up and walking away.
“I’ll miss you, too, baby,” he whispers, unable to look away as she heads to the bar. “So much I can’t breathe.”
A few seconds pass while Jungkook’s eyes continue to follow her as she gets her drink and drifts over to Taehyung. She joins the group of three and stands next to him, leaning against his side and dropping her head on his shoulder without a word as their conversation continues. Even from here, Jungkook can see Taehyung frown slightly before it disappears; a moment later, his arm comes around her as he continues talking to Sooah.
Someone else takes a seat next to him. “Jungkook,” says Seokjin gently, continuing even when he doesn’t respond, “am I wrong or… did that sound like something Taehyung should be saying to her?”
Jungkook’s heart stops for a moment - but only for a moment, and faintly. He waits for the panic he’s been dreading this whole time, at the prospect of someone finding out his darkest secret, his deepest shame. It’s there, but there’s also the slow, unexpected trickle of cautious relief at the fact that someone knows, that it no longer needs to stay festering inside him.
He tears his eyes away from her and drops them to the ground. “It’s just - just a crush,” he answers in a low voice. “It’s no big deal.” When Seokjin doesn’t respond immediately, Jungkook snaps up to look at him. “Just… please don’t tell… anyone.”
Seokjin nods, but Jungkook knows he’s caught the pause before the last word.
“It’s nothing,” he says. “It’s - it’s just… it’ll go away.” Even to his own ears, the words sound unconvincing. He’s sure Seokjin doesn’t believe him but to his credit, the older member doesn’t argue.
“How are you doing?” he asks instead. “You’re not mingling?”
“Not really in a mingling mood, hyung,” mutters Jungkook, looking down again.
“Hey, come on, now,” says Seokjin, his tone teasing as he bumps Jungkook’s shoulder. “You aren’t allowed to be in a worse mood than me.”
“You don’t seem to be in a bad mood at all,” observes Jungkook. “I saw you talking to Nari - you seemed to be having fun.”
“Fun is a reach,” he says lightly. “But, yeah, it’s nice to catch up.” He’s silent for a few seconds. “Really nice.”
Jungkook doesn’t respond. His eyes find Dilara again, now alone with Taehyung as they stand closely under a tree with fairy lights hanging from it. Her back is to Jungkook; she seems to be saying something, her curls moving slightly as she talks, while Taehyung listens intently. A few moments later, he nods and says something with a small smile which makes her hit him on the shoulder and turn to walk away. Taehyung’s smile widens as he pulls her back by the wrist before kissing her forehead and wrapping her in a hug.
It’s not the kind of hug she gives Jungkook, though; no, this one is intimate, protective, with Taehyung’s arms enclosing her and her head resting on his chest. His forearms look sinewy from here, steady around her while he rests his cheek against the side of her head. For one heart-stopping moment, it seems as though Taehyung catches his eye but the next moment it’s gone. He murmurs something to her, she nods, and he takes her hand as they walk out of the main garden towards the smaller areas flanking it.
“Don’t sit here by yourself, Jungkook,” says Seokjin softly, and Jungkook looks up to see him following the direction of his gaze. “It’s not going to help.”
He exhales deeply but nods. “Yeah. I’ll be fine, hyung,” he adds, glancing at Seokjin.
Seokjin once again doesn’t look convinced, but doesn’t argue. “Alright. I’ll check in on you later, okay?” Patting Jungkook on the shoulder, he stands up to leave.
Seokjin doesn’t feel much like drinking tonight, or even eating. There’s a physical exhaustion all the way down to his bones that’s keeping him from being able to have even the shortest conversations. He glances over at Jungkook, who’s now standing alone by the bar, looking in the direction of the garden with his eyes unfocused.
Turning away, he spots Nari by one of the gazebos, sitting on a ledge with her feet dangling a few inches above the ground. He takes a few seconds to watch her, not entirely sure what he’s seeing, but trying to drink in the fact that somehow, inadvertently, she’s here. After a moment, he begins walking towards her.
Everything they’d talked about since she’d arrived had been easy, light, right on the surface; it was nice and familiar, and all his group members had interacted with her seamlessly, a result of years of friendship by association. But it feels incomplete, especially with the unknown chasm in between now and the next time he might see her.
“Hey,” he says, passing her and taking a seat on the ledge next to her, leaving a respectable distance between them.
“Hi,” she replies, setting her phone down. “Sorry, I got a call from the hospital. I need to head out in a few, actually.”
Seokjin frowns. “Already?”
“Yeah… I’m technically on call. It’s why I’m not drinking,” she adds, waving her glass of fresh lime soda in her other hand. “How are you doing?”
He’s about to nod and say something upbeat, but it’s too tiring. “Kind of want this night to be over, if I’m being honest.”
“What?” Nari looks back at the garden. “Your friends threw you such a nice dinner. You haven’t even eaten anything yet.”
“I know, I know and I’m grateful…” He sighs and leans forward, resting his elbows on his thighs. “It’s more for them than it is for me. They need it, in a way.”
She nods but doesn’t say anything for a few seconds. “Thanks for inviting me, by the way. I mean, I know it was Hoseok who technically did but even so, after -”
“Don’t date him.” Seokjin doesn’t realise he’s interrupted her until she abruptly stops talking. “Don’t… don’t date Jason.”
The silence that follows this time is quieter, palpable in its unexpected nature. Seokjin’s heart beats unevenly; Nari’s words from earlier tonight about she and Jason just hanging out and nothing serious seemed like a mildly relieving update then, but it’s only now that he realises it’s been on his mind ever since.
Nari clears her throat awkwardly. “What?”
“I know I have no right to ask you this - I guess I’m not even really asking,” he explains quickly, shaking his head at how incoherent he probably sounds. “I just… I just had to say it.” And then, quieter, he sighs. “I don’t want to wake up one day and be in love with someone else’s girlfriend.”
“Are you?” she asks after a moment. “In love with me?”
Seokjin opens his mouth to answer but the words aren’t there. He finally looks at her to see her staring back, almost defiantly. “Does it make a difference?” he asks softly, shrugging. “I’m leaving in thirty-six hours.”
He waits for her to disagree, but her eyes flicker and she turns away. “Why didn’t you tell me you and Seulgi broke up?”
“I almost did,” he admits. But I thought it was too late. “Why didn’t you tell me you had a not-serious thing with Jason?”
“I didn’t think it mattered.”
“Why would you think that?”
“Because you were with Seulgi!” she exclaims. “Or I thought you were, anyway. And besides, it’s not like we’re gossiping about our love lives like we used to before. We haven’t been - that close in a long time.”
Seokjin bites his lip and nods, defeated. His mind is moving almost sluggishly, a mountain of emotions struggling to fall into place. “Yeah, I know,” he mutters, dropping his head. “I’m sorry I brought it up.”
“Seokjin, are you -” She breaks off, taking a deep breath. “Are you asking me to… wait for you?”
He bites his lip. “Is that really so terrible?”
She groans quietly, shaking her head. “What the fuck, Seokjin?” she whispers, running her hands down her face..
“I’m not, though. I’m not - I swear I’m not,” he says quickly. “I know I can’t ask you to do that. I just… I’m struggling with… I don’t know, just picturing what everything will be like in eighteen months and I can’t…” He exhales shakily. “I’m struggling with eighteen months. I’m struggling with…” He feels his throat tighten and tries to swallow. “I’m just struggling,” he finishes tiredly.
Nari doesn’t say anything for a few moments. Seokjin is too afraid to look at her, but he can feel the atmosphere being weighed down with notes of sympathy.
“I get it,” she says in a small voice. “As well as I can, I guess. What have your friends said?”
“I can’t talk to them about this,” he says, shaking his head. “They’re having a hard enough time dealing with all this as it is, so I can’t make it worse. The only person I can talk to about it is -” Here, he breaks off and finally looks at her, feeling a yearning for familiarity and comfort so strong that it hurts his heart.
Her body moves very slightly and for a moment, he thinks she’s about to reach for his hand. But she doesn’t and the moment passes.
“I’m glad Hobi ran into you,” he says. “He’s got a big mouth, but… for once I’m glad.”
Nari smiles. “Me, too. I would’ve kicked your arse if you’d left without saying goodbye.” Her smile fades slightly as her eyes soften. “I’m sorry, Jinnie,” she murmurs. “I should’ve realised this was coming. Especially after you turned thirty. I should’ve been there.”
Thirty. The day had been quiet, with a company schedule just like any other day. He’d realised only at the end of the day, after he’d got a text from Nari, that that was all he was going to get from her.
“Do you remember that deal we made?” he asks after a moment, a part of him knowing that he’s walking into potentially uncomfortable territory again. But what’s the point of keeping it all in? he reasons desperately.
Nari goes still. “Yeah,” she says lightly. “I remember.”
“Guess we really overshot on that one, huh?” he half-chuckles, the sound sounding hollow to his own ears.
“Seokjin.”
“I’m not asking for anything.”
“It sounds like you are.” She swallows. “Everything is too different now. You’re - Seokjin, you’re leaving.”
“I know that.”
“And I’m -”
“With Jason,” he finishes.
“Forget Jason,” she says dismissively. “You’re not the only one who’s realised we’re thirty. My mother has been setting me up with eligible bachelors since I was twenty-five and I’ve been resisting her but at some point, I’m going to give up.”
Seokjin scoffs, his heart jolting. “What are you saying?”
“I’m saying eighteen months is a long time. And you can’t - you can’t do this now. Seokjin -” She scoots a little closer to him. “I’m always going to be your friend. Even when you get out. But I can’t be in this limbo for the next year and a half and you definitely can’t be.”
He can’t recall the last time Nari saw him cry. He isn’t about to start now.
“I know. I know, Nari,” he repeats, his voice weighed down. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry I fucked everything up so much. I’m sorry I still am. The timing just -”
“Yeah,” she agrees in a murmur, and he wonders if hes imagining the disappointment in her voice. “The timing’s always sucked.”
They haven’t been this close in a long time, not since the night in the rain. Their eyes meet for a moment before Seokjin lowers his gaze, the realisation that it’s too late being heartbreaking yet akin to a morbid kind of closure.
“I need to get back to the hospital,” she says apologetically, hopping off the ledge a second before he does. “And I’m sure you need to get back to the dinner, too. But I’m really glad we had a chance to talk,” she adds, sounding like she means it.
Seokjin nods, but her voice feels far away. Eighteen months. Disjointing images float around haphazardly in his mind, of ex-girlfriends, of conversations over jajjangmyeon and of Nari’s mother’s obsession with her nuptials. It’s overwhelming, but he’d promised her he wouldn’t leave without saying goodbye. Taking a step forward, he kisses her gently.
She hesitates but responds, her hands coming up to lightly rest on his forearms. After everything that’s happened, Seokjin is inclined to believe that this, at least, is one regret he won’t carry around for the rest of his life. When they break apart after a few seconds, he keeps his eyes squeezed shut for a moment longer before opening them and meeting her eyes again.
“You aren’t asking me to wait for you,” she whispers shakily. “But that’s what you want.”
It sounds almost like a question, a bit like an accusation, and nothing like a goodbye. But Seokjin is sure he isn’t going to answer, for nothing good can come of it. Instead, he wraps his arms around her, pulling her close. He can’t remember the last time they hugged; from the way her arms go up as well, almost like she’s forgotten how to return it, he’s fairly certain she’s realised it, too.
It hurts. Seokjin’s face screws up and he drops his head onto her shoulder, trying with all his energy to stay still and not let his body move with every silent lament of their friendship and everything else that could have been. He kisses the side of her head and steps away, knowing his eyes are probably red enough for her to notice.
“Take care, Nari,” he says gruffly, clearing his throat. “Keep in touch.”
Her eyes are red, too, as is the tip of her nose as she visibly clenches her jaw. Seokjin moves to leave, walking past her before he realises he never answered her question.
“You know that time we thought you might be pregnant?” he asks, stopping and turning around. He can tell she wasn’t expecting this, but she nods slowly. “I would’ve given up everything for you. I was going to. And I couldn’t wait.” He pauses, hearing his voice tremble. “I should’ve told you that.”
Nari is trying to hold back tears, too - he can tell. But it’s too late. With a half-hearted attempt at a smile, Seokjin turns back around and heads to the dinner.

Kianna Komori/Vampire! Reader ; Passes Out While Studying
❤️ Because of your past-life at that damned mansion, you had refused to tell anybody of what you had become years prior to you joining Night Raven College
❤️ Riddle was unfortunately one of the people you had to hold this back from
❤️ But, like everything else in your life, it all came crashing down and igniting in flames
" Y/N? Are you alright? "
❤️ Looking up in shock, you smiled nervously as your felt yourself get paler by the second while your teeth slowly grew larger and larger
" Y-yeah, I'm perfectly fine! " " My Rose, I do not appreciate being lied to. Do tell, what is wrong with you. " " Riddle, I said I'm fine, why would I lie about something so foolish? "
❤️ Shutting his science book, Riddle trekked closer to you and laid a hand on your forehead. And as he moved his limbs and blinked, he was unknowing to the fact that you were holding yourself back from biting him at full-force
❤️ While he spoke of your symptoms, you began to feel lightheaded, your eyelids drooping as he dug around a small box of books of potions or other remedies that may help you with your symptoms
❤️ When Riddle heard the sound of something hitting the table, he turned around and gasped as he noticed your head against the hardwood table as your breathing began to slow
❤️ It took both Trey to get the College’s nurse and Riddle with the assistance of Cater to move you onto the ground to even try calming your boyfriend down
❤️ Riddle was shocked to hear from the nurse that you weren’t a human, rather a humanoid-being known as the Vampire. And when he heard this, he looked down at your unconscious but hanging-in-there form on the bed and grabbed your hand as Trey and Cater walked outside with the medical professional
" Why would you hide something so important from me, love? "

Kianna Komori/Vampire! Reader ; Passes Out While Talking To A Friend
🎭 Floyd does not like to be apart from you for very long, it’s just something he hates. But, his brother and childhood friend had won the game of hide-and-seek fair and square so… he guesses he’ll have to wait before squishing you in a hug
🎭 As his shift neared the end, Jade sighed and smiled at his twin before saying he could retreat for the day, as he could finish it himself
🎭 Smiling and yelling his thanks as he ran out, Floyd practically teleported to your location, and he scared the living crap out of every person he passed
🎭 But, seeing how uncomfortable you looked around that person made his blood boil slightly
🎭 Why were you so uncomfortable looking?
" Y/N? Are you okay? You don’t seem well… " " Yeah, I’m fi…ne… "
🎭 Lunging forward, Floyd pushed the other Night Raven College student away with a fire burning in his eyes as he looked at you form with a face as serious as Malleus’
🎭 He lifted you up and began to run to the nurse’s main office in search of help, and thankfully they were there
" So, what you're saying is that Y/N is a Vampire? " " Correct, Mr. Ashengrotto. " " How odd… " " Y/N's not odd! They're just different… "
🎭 Azul and Jade looked at one another before asking the nurse to speak outside, and they gratefully followed, not wanting to see the eel-mer’s pity party while clinging to your sleeping form
🎭 Floyd lightly poked the small nasogastric tube as it laid in your nose, feeding you the blood that you were desperately in need of
" You're gonna talk about this when you wake up, Y/N… "

Kianna Komori/Vampire! Reader ; Passes Out While Hiking
( and yes, I had him nickname the reader after types of mushrooms. Bite me. )
🍄 Jade was not amused with the fact that he couldn’t find any of the new mushroom species he read about
🍄 While he did offer for you to trail back to the College because of how long this trip may end up going, you refused and practically mentally battles to stay with him on the trail
🍄 His eyes narrowed as you began to stumble around lightly, and when he saw how you just shook your head from staring at some random squirrel with a hungry look
🍄 And what alarmed him slightly was the fact that your nails seemingly grew a hint pointier and then flatter as you snapped out of your gaze
" Milk-Cap? Are you alright back there? You look as if you were going to attack the young tree-rat back there~ " " Huh? Yep, perfectly fine! W-why? " " I already said why… are you truly okay? Fairy-Bonnet? Y/N- Y/N! "
🍄 Dropping his small basket of mushrooms to the ground, Jade lunged and grabbed you around your waist before grabbing his magic pen and teleporting back to the College and running towards the nurse’s office
🍄 I swear I have written nurse so many damn times now
🍄 Petting your head as a tube went down your nose and throat to feed you the blood you were needing to gain energy from, Jade internally cursed himself
🍄 How could he not realize what you were and what you needed?! You were bound to be pissed at him when you awoke
" I apologize for overlooking such an obvious detail, Y/N… I hope you can forgive me… "

Chapter 36. Confidential Matters
"Alright, but what is your deal with signing people? According to many people you have signed enough people to Ferrari to fill the entire grid," Kevin asked Matilde.
Kevin and Matilde sat in a restaurant in Austin, Texas, USA. It had been a while since they had spoken to each other. They both had some free time in Austin, so they decided to meet and go out for lunch.
Matilde took a sip of her coffee and nodded impressively. "Well..." She took a deep breath. "Who did I sign?"
"Hamilton, Max, Mick, Ricciardo..."
"I wish," she replied. "I have to admit, I had dinner with Hamilton in Singapore to talk about it, but that's all. And the others... Nah, didn't talk to them." She smiled. "I can add you to the list as well. I am talking to you now."
"I am flattered." He shook his head. "But is someone leaving then?"
She leaned back in her chair, a playful smirk tugging at her lips as she stirred her coffee. "Now, now, Kevin," she teased. "Do you think I would spill Ferrari's secrets that easily? I like to keep people guessing."
He chuckled, leaning forward slightly. "You always were good at that. But seriously, the rumours are flying. People are convinced you're building some kind of super team."
She shrugged, a glint of amusement in her eyes. "Let them talk. It keeps things interesting, doesn't it? But for the record," she added, her tone more serious now, "our current drivers are phenomenal. I wouldn't trade them for anyone. And who says I'm not building a super team? We are in the race to become world champions, Kevin, of course, I'm building a super team."
"You proved them wrong, you know. Almost everyone thought Ferrari made a massive mistake and now you are ruling the grid."
Her expression softened, her usual confidence tinged with gratitude as she met Kevin's gaze. "Thanks." She took another sip of her coffee, her fingers absentmindedly tapping the edge of the cup. "But proving people wrong isn't the goal. It's just a nice bonus. What matters is making sure Ferrari is back where it belongs; at the very top."
He leaned back in his chair, his lips curving into a grin. "And you've managed that in record time. I'll give you credit; I didn't think it would happen this quickly, no one did. You've shaken things up in ways no one expected."
She chuckled, although her eyes held a flicker of intensity. "I like to stir up things."
He raised an eyebrow. "It seems like you are the only one who keeps to a promise. I don't know what all the others said to your team, but you're the only one who actually does it."
"Oh, man, I didn't make a promise to them."
"What?"
"I don't make promises. All I told them was I would do and try my best to give them the best result we could get. Why would you make promises if you're not sure about it? Everyone can fuck it up in just a second, even now."
A thin line came between his eyebrows by squeezing his eyebrows together. "Why don't you make promises?"
She looked outside and licked her lips. "Because... I don't know for one hundred per cent sure if I can make it happen, so rather than be safe than sorry, I will say I will try and do my best. If I promise anything and won't make it happen, then I lose more than anything."
"Woman, who hurt you?" The words rolled over his lips. "A little bit of faith is healthy."
"I have been promised a lot of stuff and none of it happened, so yeah."
"Such as?"
"Parents who didn't stay together, brothers who ran away, opportunities that were taken away," she said, like it wasn't a big deal.
Her words silent Kevin, he wasn't aware that it was that deep.
"It took me years to understand why I was single for so long, but I just have the trauma of being a child of divorced parents. I remember thinking, during high school, when two classmates got into a relationship, that they would never be together once they turned eighteen years old. Turned out that wasn't a normal thought, but a trauma thought," she continued to speak as if it was nothing.
"I can see where it's coming from," he mentioned. "But it's not normal, indeed. When was your last relationship?"
"Two years ago."
"And it ended because?"
She took a deep breath and looked around. "I don't know. He was not the right person, I guess."
"Hmm, do I know him?"
"Billi, from the medical team. Well, Bill, Billi, whatever you call him."
He began to laugh and shake his head. "And I introduced him to you the other day in Miami, I believe." He took a sip of his drink. "For how long were you together?"
"Two years," she replied and let out a short laugh. "Don't get me wrong, he is seriously one of the kindest, sweetest, romantic men out there, but not for me. We are still friends and yeah."
Kevin slowly nodded. "But you're not seeing someone right now? Not even a crush?"
"You know who my crush is?" An amusing smile came on Matilde's lips. "Patrick Dempsey, finest man alive." She gave him a nod. "And I will be meeting him in Las Vegas. That's all I need in my life."
"Oh, come on," he sighed and shook his life. "Fine, if that is what you want."
"What? Look, I love to be auntie Mattie and the kids give me all the love I need. I have enough people around me who care about me, who I care about. Sometimes I see you with Louise and the kids and... I want that too, eventually. But I don't know how to find the right person, you know?" She took a short pause. "And... Why am I justifying myself to you again?" She squinted her eyes and tilted her head.
He crossed his arms in front of his chest, looking at Matilde like she was his little sister he had to look after. "Because..."
"Give me a reason." She raised her eyebrow. "Well?"
"Because whatever is going on with Charles, red flag."
Her eyes grew. "Kevin, how the fuck- Who told you- Did Lars tell you this?"
Kevin smirked like he had just hit the jackpot. "I have my ways," he teased, tapping the side of his head. "Come on, Matt, you make it easy. You were wearing his paddock pass the other day. You were lucky I saved you, what might have happened if someone else saw it."
"Jesus Christ," she groaned, burying her face in her hands. She removed them from her face. "But why didn't you say anything about it back then?"
"Your reaction now."
"For fuck's sake."
Kevin laughed, clearly enjoying her reaction. "Relax."
"I swear, nothing is going on. I called it off, it's the most stupid thing I have ever done in my career-"
"So? Look, don't make a big deal out of this and don't let this fling involve your job. It's your life, but be aware of every step you take. Besides, this is such a classic story: he hates you at first because he's in love with you, but can't be in love with you, so to hide his feelings, he will act like an asshole. Beautiful story, isn't it?"
Just when she wanted to reply to him, someone sat down next to Kevin. Max dropped into the seat beside Kevin, exhaling sharply as if he had just sprinted across the entire city to find them. His tousled hair and slightly dishevelled shirt suggested he had been in a hurry. "Sorry," he said, glancing between them. "Am I interrupting something?"
Kevin smirked, leaning back in his chair. "Not at all. We were just discussing Matilde's love life."
Matilde's eyes widened, and she glared at Kevin. "Kevin, I swear to-" She stopped herself, shooting an apologetic glance at Max. "Don't listen to him. He's just trying to stir up drama.
Max raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh? Love life? That's interesting. I thought your life revolved around racing and making stupid jokes."
"It does," Matilde shot back, crossing her arms defensively. "Unlike you, some of us actually focus on our careers." Her eyebrows raised. "Playing FIFA the evening before a race, like, in the middle of the night."
Kevin chuckled, clearly enjoying himself. "She's deflecting. Classic move."
Max tilted his head, a sly grin forming on his face. "So, who's the unlucky guy? Or girl? Should I be worried?"
Matilde groaned, rubbing her temples. "You two are insufferable. I'm not talking about this. Can we focus on something else? Like, I don't know, the... new night train between Copenhagen and Amsterdam?"
Kevin and Max exchanged amused glances before Kevin raised his hands in surrender. "Fine, fine. We'll drop it. For now. And what's up with the new night train?"
Max leaned back, smirking. "But just so you know, Matilde, if it's Charles, I'm taking bets."
Her jaw dropped, and she pointed a finger at Max. "You're unbelievable. Why is- You know what, no, I'm not gonna do this. You two can fuck off. Since when are you even talking to each other?"
"What about Monza?" A grin spread over his face.
She raised her eyebrows. "What about it?"
"Oh, my god," he giggled and looked at Kevin. "She's denying it, but I saw her having a walk of shame."
Kevin's eyes grew round. "Please say from Charles' room."
"Absolutely."
Matilde's eyes widened and her lips parted. "Go fuck yourself, really."
"And in Amsterdam, I saw you kiss."
"Max," she sighed.
"What? I'm not kissing Charles or having sex with him," he casually replied. "Besides, Charles is madly in love with you. You can tell it from kilometres away, Mattie. The way he looks at you... I've never seen someone be in love as much as he is with you," Max grinned. "Ever since you had to go to the hospital, he looks after you." He shrugged, unbothered. "Just saying. People look. Anyway, I was looking for you, Mattie." He looked at Kevin and stuck out his hand. "Whatever is being said right now, is confidential, okay?"
Kevin shook his hand and gave him a nod. "Sure."
As Matilde took a sip, she raised her eyebrows; some weird things were happening in front of her. Her eyes narrowed at the exchange between Kevin and Max. "Okay, what's going on?" she asked, her tone sharp with curiosity. "Since when do you two need secret handshakes for confidential matters?"
Max leaned forward, clasping his hands together on the table, his expression serious yet calm. "It's nothing dramatic," he started, glancing briefly at Kevin as if to gauge his trustworthiness. "But there's something I need to talk to you about. Privately."
Her eyebrows shot up even higher. "Privately? In front of Kevin?"
Max smirked. "Kevin has already signed the verbal non-disclosure agreement. Kevin is a Dane, you are a Dane, he practically is you." His back straightened and his tone dropped slightly. He cleared his throat. "I need you to sign me to Ferrari."
She spit out her drink on the table when she heard the words coming from his mouth. She coughed, hurriedly grabbing a napkin to wipe the table and her chin. "Excuse me?" she blurted, her voice a mix of disbelief and amusement. "Sign you to Ferrari? Max, have you been drinking before noon, or did I miss a memo?"
He leaned forwards, his eyes scanning the restaurant around him. "I am deadly serious, Matilde."
She blinked at him, still processing his audacious statement. "Max, you're literally leading the championship. Red Bull has given you a rocket ship. Why on earth would you want to leave that?"
"Are you trying to say you won't sign me?"
Her lips parted and she looked at Kevin, who had the biggest question mark above his head. What was just happening? Of what was he part of? She shifted her gaze back to Max, her brow furrowing. "I'm not saying I won't - I'm saying this sounds completely insane." She leaned forward slightly, lowering her voice. "Do you understand what you're asking?"
"Mattie, it is a mess out there and I can't face it anymore, I can't do it anymore," he blurted. He started to tell every single thing that had been bothering him and why switching teams would be the only solution. "And you know that every contract has a loophole."
"If I sign you..." Matilde lost her words. She leaned back on her chair and she looked perplexed. "Dude, what the fuck. Just act normal, man."
"Hey, don't drag me into this. I'm just here for the lunch drama," Kevin said.
Max looked at him. "What do you say?"
Kevin parted his lips and he looked at Matilde, who had a massive internal error. "Then who is leaving Ferrari?"
"Carlos, obviously," Max shrugged.
The eyes of Matilde grew round. "What? Carlos is leaving?" she whispered sharply, not quite believing what she was hearing.
Max shifted in his seat, his fingers tapping nervously on the table. "I - look, I... You didn't know?"
"Not until now," she shot at him. "Hello, what is happening? Max, tell me everything. Now." She looked at Kevin. "Did you know about this?"
"No," Kevin replied straight away.
Her eyes shifted back to Max, waiting for him to answer.
"There are rumours that Carlos has been talking to Williams for over a year," Max slowly replied. "And that he might be leaving Ferrari at the end of the season. It's because of Audi."
She blinked at Max, her mouth slightly open as if trying to form words but failing. "What the fuck," she mumbled. "Leaving for Williams?" She leaned forward, lowering her voice even further, her disbelief practically vibrating off her. "Are you serious?"
He nodded "I don't know if it's true, but I've been hearing it from enough places to think there might be something to it." He hesitated, searching her face. "I thought you would have been the first to know. I mean, you're always so transparent on supporting everyone to talk to other teams."
"Yes, obviously, intending to be transparent with me as well, not to hear a rumour from another driver." Her hand found its way to her forehead, her fingers pressing against her temple as if that would somehow help her process the information. She sighed. "No, Max, I'm definitely the last to know, apparently," she muttered, her tone sharp but laced with exasperation.
Kevin whistled low, leaning back in his chair. "Williams? That's... quite a jump."
"Tell me about it," she said, more to herself than to anyone else. Her gaze snapped back to Max. "And this is why you want to talk about Ferrari? Because of some rumour that Carlos might be leaving?"
He straightened slightly, his nervous energy simmering into a more controlled determination. "It's not just a rumour, Matilde. It's about what comes next. If there's even a chance that the seat opens up, I need to be in that conversation."
She stared at him for a long moment, her initial shock starting to fade into something else - something closer to understanding. She glanced at Kevin, who was watching the exchange with a mix of amusement and curiosity, then back at Max.
"Well," she said finally, leaning back in her chair, "this just got a hell of a lot more interesting." She took a deep breath. "I'm going to talk to Carlos. Anyway, we are not signing anything. But if you are serious, very serious, then I want you to talk to your lawyers and advisors, sort everything out and I know you will be taking your people with you, so come up with an offer." She paused for a moment. "And know that I won't possibly sign you because you are a friend, but because you are one of the best out there. And be aware that it won't be fun and games. I will be your boss and you will be my driver, Max."

Bet on Me- Chapter Two
Synopsis: When Freya’s band gets invited to be an opener on Bad Omen’s EU tour, she is both thrilled and extremely nervous. Meanwhile, the boys in Bad Omens decide to have some fun, specifically involving Freya and Folio. Some bets are involved and some group conspiring. What will come of Freya’s time with Folio and the boys?
Characters: OC [Freya] x Folio
Word Count: 934
Tag List: @foliosgirl , @dsireland86 , @lacy1986 , @dominuslunae , @ladyveronikawrites [let me know if you’d like to be tagged in the next part!]
Trigger Warnings: Cursing [let me know if I missed anything!]

“Folio, Dude, I am begging you to stop beating on the table. Please,” Noah begged from across the tour bus.
Folio tuned back into the movement of his own fingers, realizing he had been slamming his metal spoon against the six by six “dinner table” in front of him. “Sorry guys, I think I zoned out,” he responded quickly, whilst throwing the spoon across the hardwood floor as a way to appease the guys.
“You think? You’ve been doing that shit for the past like ten minutes,” Noah responded, kicking the spoon back in Folio’s direction with a light chuckle.
“Oh no, don’t fucking kick it back towards him. You’re just giving him ammunition,” Jolly piped in, walking into the main area of the bus, emerging from the back.
Folio put his hands up in surrender, “Fine, if my drumming bothers you guys so bad, then I guess I’ll never do it again,” he responded with a playful eyebrow raise.
“Good, maybe then I can get some fucking sleep,” Nick responded from the bunks. He then emerged from the top bunk, rubbing his eyes as if on queue. He sat where the rest of the guys were congregated and ran his fingers through his hair absentmindedly.
“Dude, you’re just lucky you have the top bunk. I can feel every fucking time you move,” Folio finally responded, trying to change the subject from his drumming habits.
With a yawn and a cheeky grin, Nick just nodded. Folio looked around at the other two guys. He could tell everyone was tired, but no one wanted to concede. Folio thought it would be worth it to try and start up another conversation to try and re-energize everyone, “So, what did everyone think of the girls?”
Noah and Jolly answered in unison, “Soph is hot.” Nick just nodded in agreement, and then added, “I think G is also cute.”
Jolly chuckled and added, “I also wouldn’t mind spending some time with Luna.”
“Dude she seemed pretty into you,” Noah added, backhanding Jolly’s bicep.
Jolly let out another chuckle and then the room went silent. It was as if everyone was thinking the same thing but no one wanted to say it out loud.
Noah and Jolly let out a breath, while Nick snorted a bit, “I don’t think the blonde one liked me very much.” Once Nick said what everyone was thinking, the tense silence looming in the air dispersed.
“Dude, I don’t think she liked anyone very much,” Jolly responded.
“She’s kind of hot though,” Folio let out without even thinking. He watched as the other three guys turned their heads to look at him. He immediately regretted saying anything when Nick let out another chuckle. Folio picked up the spoon that was kicked back to him and threw it towards Nick, which did succeed in shutting him up for the time being. Folio focused his attention back towards Noah and Jolly, and he could see the gears turning in Noah’s brain.
“What, Noah?”
“What? I didn’t say anything,” Noah replied defensively, but Folio could tell he was up to something due to Noah’s wide grin growing by the second.
“Then why the fuck does your face look like that?”
“Ah, Folio, don’t stoop to insulting Noah’s face. He’s gorgeous,” Jolly said as he grabbed Noah’s chin and let out a wild laugh. The rest of the guys followed suit with laughter.
“No, man, I just had a thought,” Noah finished.
“I don’t like your ideas.”
“Well, my ideas are why we’re on this tour,” Noah responded with a lift of his eyebrows.
“Fair point. Go on.” Folio could feel the attention of Nick and Jolly and suddenly was overwhelmed with anticipation for what Noah had to say next.
“How interested are you in the top bunk?”
Folio looked at Nick, assuming Noah was referring to his, “Uhh-“
Noah cut Folio off, noticing his attention went directly to Nick, “Not his. I wouldn’t do that to Nicky. I meant mine. I don’t care.”
Folio hesitated for a moment, not sure where this was all coming from, “Okay… But what are you suggesting?”
“Well, since you think blondie is so hot, I would love to see if you can get her to go on… hmm, let’s see… three dates with you. If you can do that, the top bunk is yours.”
A chorus of laughter erupted from Jolly and Nick and Folio couldn’t help but blush slightly, tilting his head down to hide the redness in his cheeks. He looked back up to the guys, “Yo, shut the fuck up for a second. I feel like that wasn’t a lot of details. Like, what is considered a date? How much time do I have? Etcetera…”
“Okay, okay. Great questions. Let’s say a date would be spending more than an hour together. Can be literally anything you want. And you have a month, so that the top bunk will be worth your while.”
Folio stared a Noah for a moment, “And you’re being deadass fucking serious?”
“Fucking serious,” Noah responded, holding his hand out for Folio as if to sanctify this bet.
Folio’s hand wavered as he thought for a moment. On one hand, the top bunk would be nice and he did think blondie was hot. But, on the other hand she was kind of a miserable person, not to mention she didn’t seem to like him all that much. Folio weighed the pros and cons in his head for a few more seconds before he finally shook Noah’s hand with a smirk, “You’ve got yourself a deal.”

It’s the night before the MITB PPV and the bloodline Civil War match is vastly approaching. How do you keep it together as Smackdown’s production director and navigate your life as the girlfriend of Mr. Main Event Jey Uso? Follow Shantell as she navigates her life as a girlfriend, sister, and confidant to the bloodline. Follow her on her journey to self-discovery of love and happiness.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Camera ten pan over, Camera eight get ready! I want that final shot of Jey and Joe before the brawl! Then we are going to pace it going back and forth between camera five and eleven. Stu it’s about to get wild stay safe, and rock it like the rent is due! “I said into my headset.
“I got you Shan, let’s go to work.” Stu responded.
“Let’s make it count guys in 5,4,3,2,1.” I say looking at the monitor feeling antsy not wanting to miss a moment.
We’re all on pins and needles as Roman walks up to Jey. “You gon step up now, you a big tough guy now, huh. “What you gon do?” he shouts as Jey begins looking down and around with an expression of apprehension.
“You ain’t never done nothin, you understand me? “You are nothing without me!” Roman continuously yells at his cousin who he has spent the last three years being abused by the Tribal Chief.
“Alright camera five we are coming your way.” I say as the action seems about to pop off.
“I got you Shan let’s do this.” Scott said as a familiar voice rang out in our ears through our headsets “The civil war has begun!” stated Michael Cole as the brawl breaks down between the bloodline as Jey pie-faced roman right into a superkick from Jimmy.
“Cameras eleven and five let’s take it home guys. Hard cameras keep your eye on the ring, you got five seconds before it goes to you, then back to camera five. Camera eleven I need my shot!” I shout into my headset feeling myself in the zone.
“Jey Uso! Takes out the bloodline, the civil war continues tomorrow at “Money In the Bank! “Michael Cole screams as camera five take us home with a final shot on Roman writhing on the floor.
The show was done, and we made it through, the atmosphere in London is so magical and overwhelming at times but we had a great time directing the show. My name is Shantell, but everyone calls me Shan for short. I’m not one to toot my own horn but I’m the first woman to run WWE Smackdown production ever and a black woman at that. I take pride in my job being that I’ve been a fan of wrestling all my life.
I have been employed by World Wrestling Entertainment for almost three years now. “Jesus!” I scream as I feel someone grab me around my waist from behind and kiss my neck. “Hey baby” the sweaty figure whispers into my neck before dropping a kiss on the sensitive area. A chill ran down my spine because I know that deep sexy drawl anywhere.
“Jey, you scared the shit outta me!” I exclaimed as he let out a little laugh and turned me around in his arms to face him as I wrap my arms around his neck.
“Well, you know it had to be me, who else would steal a kiss?” he questions with a sly smirk.
“It could have been anybody, you know how some of these men been trying to get at me all of a sudden since we been dating.” I smirk watching his facial expression turn territorial, almost challenging.
“Ma, ain’t nobody crazy enough to try to take what’s mine.” He says scrunching up his face a little bit before stealing a quick kiss.
“Well, that would be hot if it didn’t sound so ……You Tarzan me jane- ish.” I whispered against his lips before stealing a kiss myself. We both held it together for a few seconds before we fell out laughing.
Yep, as you can guess Joshua Fatu is my boyfriend he is best known to the world as Jey Uso. We’ve been together almost four months even though we’ve known each other for five years. Everything is still fairly new to us, and we are navigating the waters from being friends to being in a relationship.
“Hey Uce.” said Jon aka Jimmy Uso walking up to us and giving me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. “Hey big guy! Great job out there.” I said as Joe and Solo came up and I hugged them as well. “How did we do baby girl?” Joe asks as I embrace him. “You all were awesome I had fun directing you guys tonight. “I said excitedly.
“Fun my ass! It was a blast; we might need to do a behind the scenes video of you guys directing a segment. Pure passion and at times comedy gold,” said the COO of the company Paul Levesque said as a few of us from production began laughing.
I wrapped up my final work of the night and met the guys at the bus. I saw Jimmy off to the side, ending his phone call looking very upset. “Hey everything ok?” I asked as I saw the longing in his face.
“Yea just missing Trin, it’s a big day tomorrow and I’m so use to having her here.” He says rubbing his hand across his tired face.
“Hey, it will be ok, I know it is hard but if anyone can do this it’s you and Trin.” I say as he nods his head in hopefulness.
“Guys let’s roll!” shouts Joe from the bus. I give him a hug before we got on the bus to go to our next location in England for a last-minute appearance at a house show not very far from the 02 arena for those that couldn’t get smackdown tickets.
The show was still going on and the bloodline was double booked for both shows with smackdown being filmed earlier in the afternoon.
“Baby, I’m going to call my mom right quick then I will be in” I say as I see them getting ready to get off the bus for the house show main event.
“Ok baby, see you in there,” Jey says as he’s the last one off the bus.

Tampa, Fl
Trin POV
Ring…Ring.Ring…
“Hey Shan, how are you?” Trinity asks with a smile. It was great to hear from my friend, she hated not being on the road with them but in the end, she made her choice. She couldn’t be happier with the new opportunities she was receiving, but she was missing her husband and her friends.
“I’m good I just wanted to run an idea by you. When do you have to go back to work?” Shan asks.
“Well Tommy thought I was going to England with Jimmy, so he gave me off until next Thursday. I wish he had told me before I reported to work because I could have gone with you guys. Then a fan tweeted me a video from an interview the guys did yesterday, and I just felt so bad. I miss him so much, and I miss being there, but I had to take a stand on what’s right.” I say brokenly as all I wanted to do at this moment was hold my husband and take is pain away.
“That’s why I’m calling Trin, the company Jet is in route back to the states to pick up a few more talent that is going to do house shows this upcoming Monday and I asked Paul if you could come, and he said yes!” Shan says excitedly.
My tears began to fall I had to take a moment to comprehend what my friend was saying. “Are you serious?” “Yes, I’m serious Paul understands what went down, why do you think he had no problem with you being at Wrestlemania to support Jon, he adores you. The Plane will land in about three hours at the airport also, Tangela and Sofia are coming,” she adds.
Tangela and Sofia are also my girls and Roman and Solo’s wives respectively. It’s hard in this business being married but we all find a way to make it work.
“Shan, I can’t thank you enough,” I say trying to stop my tears from flowing.
“Girl, stop crying, tomorrow is going to be special for them, and it wouldn’t be complete if the most important women in their lives weren’t here to share in that. Now get packed and come see your hubby.” she says confidently.
“See that’s why you my sister, you keep me grounded,” I whisper in gratitude.
“See you tomorrow sis, call me when y’all land,” she says as we finish our goodbyes.
Shantell’s POV
“I was getting worried bae,” Jey said as I came and sat on his lap.
“I’m ok baby.” I said giving him a chaste kiss on the lips.
“Get a room ya’ll! I’m already missing my wife, “Solo says with a laugh as I got up and pretended to square up against him.
“Now sis, you know damn well, “he starts with a belly laugh as I cut him off.
"Hey! Don’t sleep on us quiet ones, we’ll put them paws on dat ass!” I exclaim, smiling and swinging my fists in a windmill motion as the guys start laughing.
“I’ll remember that.” he says rubbing the top of my head with a smile as I stick out my tongue at him.
“Bro, leave my girl alone,” Jey says grabbing me by the waist pulling me into his lap laughing at the antics of his brother and I.
We all continued to joke around with each other before Paul Heyman made his presence felt, “Gentleman this angle has been amazing, all the hard work you have put in is paying off. I couldn’t be prouder; you deserve this, and so much more so enjoy this moment.” he said with tears in his eyes.
The moment of clarity for the four men was resounding as they seemed to be in trance still trying to comprehend all that is happening to them and just taking the moment in. Tomorrow they would make history with each other.
“I’ll be back guys,” Jimmy says as he stands and proceeds to go deep into the arena.
“He misses Trin.” Jey says as he looks at his brother retreating form.
I look at Jey and then turned to Joe as I heard him speaking. “That is a major part of it, but he also thinks with everything that has happened in the past he’s not deserving of this moment. That interview really threw him for a loop yesterday,” he says taking a deep breathe looking in the direction his cousin went.
“I’m going to talk to him,” I said practically running to find Jimmy before Jey could stop me.
I found him in a deserted part of the arena with his head between his hands. I sat down beside him. “Wanna talk?” I ask. “I’m gonna fuck this up,” he says in a whisper. Unbeknownst to them someone is listening in the shadows.
“What do you mean you’re gonna fuck it up?” I ask.
“I don’t belong here Uce,” he says as I look at him with sympathetic eyes.
“I don’t know who you’ve been listening to, but I am telling you that you belong here. You belong here with your brothers, and your family. You all play a part in this, not just one person. I’m sorry but the guy l directed a couple weeks ago that cut that badass promo with his brothers and cousin was ready,” I say as he hangs his head taking a deep breath.
“Jonathon!” I yell as he turns to look at me in disbelief.
“My government name…. Really sis?" he whines as I shake my head yes at him.
“Yes, government name because I’m talking to Jonathon Fatu now not Jimmy Uso. Look we all make mistakes. Do you know what matters?” I ask as he stares at me intently and shakes his head no.
“It’s how you handle your mistakes that makes you the person you are. You messed up big deal, you owned it, and you worked your way back. You brothers loves you, so does Trinity, Joe, we all do, and you know mama and daddy Kishi don’t play bout they babies,” I say finally getting a smile out of him as I nudge his shoulder.
“We are all with you every step of the way because that what family do,” I say reassuring him. He sadly smiles at me as a few silent tears slips from his eyes.
“I’m glad my brother has someone like you in his life Shan,” he says as we embrace.
“I know right!” I say smartly as we both laugh. “But seriously I’m blessed to have your brother in my life, he treats me like a queen. And I’m glad Joshua is blessed to have brothers like you and Solo,” I say as we sit in silence for a minute.
‘Now can we go back and enjoy the moment with your family,” I ask as he nods, helps me up, and we walk back towards the group.
----------------------------------------------------------
Jey’s POV
Jey wipes the tears he didn’t even know had fallen from his eyes as he watched his girlfriend walk off with his brother to rejoin the group. He felt his brother’s pain as he himself had made a few bad choices, but the media always focused on my brothers’ problems. I didn’t know he felt this way and that bothers me. We both deserve to be here.
We gon have a talk when we get home away from the prying eyes of work. Behind every corner someone sees something. Case in point my ass hiding in the shadows listening on a conversation not meant for me, but I’m glad I did.
“There you are baby,” Shan says as I walk up trying to mask all the emotions inside of me from the conversation I overheard.
“I was going to find you guys, but I had to go to the bathroom” I said sitting beside her.
She looks at me and nods in understanding. “We’re on soon guys, then we can go on to the hotel to get some rest.” Joe states taking a seat beside Solo and Jimmy.
“Good because I need to call Sofia, “Solo says looking at a picture of his wife and son on his phone.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shantell’s POV
“Night guys,” I say as Jey, and I step off the elevator for him to walk me to my room.
“Night Uce,” Jimmy says with a smile and a side nod trying to push his bro to shoot his shot. Jey shook his head no while signaling to his twin brother to shut up.
“No fooling around guys, you know what Mickey said in Rocky. Women weaken them legs,” Solo says as Joe hits him on the back of his head as we all laughed.
“We all know Shantell is a good girl, she going to make Uce earn it, they may cuddle at best, so he won’t have weak legs tomorrow Solo, I assure you, “Joe snickers.
I blush and put my head down as Jey laughs, “Aye, aye, get outta me and my lady business,” he says as the elevator door closes. We began the walk to my room finally reaching our destination, I turn to say goodnight and I’m met with an earth-shattering kiss from Jey, it was slow, deliberate, and powerful.
Getting lost in the moment my arms automatically go to around his neck as he pulls me in close. I feel his tongue begging to be inside my mouth as he pulls me even closer to him.
I gasp at the sensations he is causing me to have all at once as our tongues finally meet in a sensual dance as his hands begin to roam all over my body.
“Ahem!” A familiar voice says as we turn to see Paul Heyman with smile on his face.
“Maybe you two would like to take that inside one of your rooms maybe?” He says as I blush and put my head on Jey’s shoulder as he snickers rubbing his hands up and down my arms.
“Sorry OG, I lost myself for a second.” Jey says trying to not laugh.
“No problem, I know what it was like to be young and in love” he says smiling walking into his room beside mine.
“So are you coming in mister right hand man?” I ask as his gaze intensifies as he invades my space once again. “I wanna do some thangs to you with this right hand, he says touching my breasts through my shirt as I moan. “I don’t wanna rush you, I’m trying to be a good dude here,” he whispers before taking me again in a gentle kiss as we both moan from pleasure. I can feel his chest muscles tighten as I rake my nails up and down his back trying to feel him anyway I could.
Breaking away from the intense kiss to catch my breath, I finds my voice, “I’m not ready to say goodnight yet, I whisper still holding on to him as he smiles. I was content in his arms yet struggling to find the courage to say what I know we both wanted.
“Shit you look so fuckin sexy right now, you makin it hard for me to go to my room Shan,” he groans as I gaze up at him with bashful, lust filled eyes. “Can I stay wit ya baby. I just wanna hold you.” Jey whispers to me as he sensually attacks my neck with kisses as I nod and let out a small moan as he finds my sensitive spot behind my ear.
“Mmhmm, I found a spot didn’t I baby,” he moans near my ear as I groan, and nod appreciatively barely holding it together. “Can I stay baby?” he moans kissing and sucking on my neck as if he’s trying to drain my dry of my senses. I nod again unable to speak as he’s enjoying feasting on my neck.
“Nah, let me hear you say I can baby”, he demands as he pulls back to look into my eyes. “Do you want me to stay beautiful?” he asks again more clearly as he gently caresses my face looking at me with so much love and admiration. I pray this feeling never ends; I’m so gone over this man if he wanted to take me right now in this hall up against the wall, I would let him.
“Yes,” I moan breathlessly without hesitation as he gently kisses me. “I promise I’ll be good,” he whispers against my lips in between kisses “I trust you baby,” I say gazing into his eyes before turning away to open the door. He wraps his arms around my waist slowly pulling me to him gingerly brushing my hair to one side while sensually attacking the other side of my neck with butterfly kisses as we go inside.
“Bout time Uce!” Paul says to himself smiling happy that the relationship between the two was flourishing. He didn’t mean to listen to their intimate conversation, but they weren’t exactly being quite either. Paul shook his head went to call his own wife before he took a shower to settle down for the night.
------------
Sofia’s POV
“Baby… I miss you so much,” Sofia says as she talks to her husband Solo on the phone.
“I miss you more babe, tomorrow is on my mind, and you calm me down when I’m overthinking,” he says glancing around is lonely hotel room.
“Baby, I want you to breathe, I hate the connection was so bad that our facetime call dropped earlier,” Sofia mumbles as Trinity and Tangela shoot her a look from the other side of the plane. She holds up a finger at them.
“Baby, can I call you back? I’m going to check on the Cameron,” she says as Solo voice perks up at the mention of his son. He knows how hard it is for a newborn sometimes to sleep and their son was no different. He knows I’ve been struggling to adjust to Cameron’s sleep patterns.
“Sure baby, give Cameron my love. I love you Sofie,” he says as I smiles “I love you too big guy.”
“What was that about?” Tangela says as I disconnect the call shaking my head.
“Oh, he’s nervous about tomorrow and wishes I was there,” I say with a look of longing, this was harder than I thought it would be.
“Aww, he is going to be so surprised tomorrow,” Trinity says as Tangela smiles.
“Joe text me talking about keep the home fires burning, we are going on a trip when he gets done with smackdown next week. I hate I could never get into wrestling like you guys, sometimes I feel outta place” Tangela says with a small frown on her face.
“Girl, even if you don’t like it, I bet when you feel the atmosphere tomorrow you will enjoy the show and will be cheering him on. You support and love him, so he doesn’t mind if you don’t come to shows but I know it’s important to him and his face is going to tell the story when he sees you tomorrow.” Sofia reassures her.
---------
Jimmy’s Hotel Room
“Damn,” Jimmy mutters as he tries to reach his wife but gets her voicemail.
“Good night beautiful…. I had you on my mind, and Josh is probably staying the night with Shan, so I was hoping for a little facetime fun. I can’t wait to get home to see you. I Love you.” He ended the call and went about his nightly routine to get ready for bed.
Shantell's Hotel room
Jey’s POV
“I’m going to grab a shower baby, “Shan says heading into the bathroom. As Jey makes himself comfortable on the bed. “Need any help baby?” I ask with a smirk. “You are so silly,” she says shutting the bathroom door.
“She gon to be the death of me,” I whisper to myself as I hear the shower in the next room. I pulled my clothes off and strip down to my underwear, having showered at the building paid off because I probably would have taken my clothes off and joined her in the shower and took her right then and there with how hot she got me from our makeout session outside of her hotel room.
“Jey, hold it together ….Damn,” I say to myself while channel surfing. Next thing you know the thought of the water cascading down Shan’s body is too much and I’m sliding my underwear down a little to release my throbbing dick.
“Shit! That feels better,” I mutter as I glance back at the door then back down at my throbbing dick, I needed to take care of it before Shan gets out of the shower. I slowly grabbed my dick and began to stroke it to further erection. I needed to get relief quick and fast.
My breath hitches as I pictured Shan in the shower as I began to stroke faster, my gasps faintly heard throughout the room as I struggle to be quiet to not alert her as to what I was doing. I begin to stroke even faster, as the thought of her going down on her knees looking up at me with those beautiful bedroom eyes as she takes me in her mouth.
“Fuck!” I mutter as my eyes closes, it feels so fucking good. I stroke myself harder as I feel my thighs start to tighten, it’s almost like I could feel Shan’s mouth on my dick sucking me hard and fast. My body begins to shiver as I cum hard shaking and cursing below my breath gasping Shantell’s name.
“Damn, I’m whipped,” I say to myself as I clean myself up quickly and climbed back into bed feeling more relaxed and ready for bed.
Shantell’s POV
As I was finishing up my shower my thoughts began to wander to Jey. We have been dating for a few months, few kisses here, and caresses there. I want so much more; I’m ready to give Jey every inch of me. I never really dated as I was always concerned with school and sports so it left little time for dating.
After high school, I started college but two years in I left due to my grandmother being diagnosed with cancer. I put school on the back burner until she went into remission. Then when I returned, I did my internship with WWE and finished my last two years of college.
Sadly after my one-year anniversary with the WWE my grandmother's cancer returned and after a long-fought battle, she passed away last year.
Now I stand here as a thirty-two-year-old virgin. I remember the battle we had about our ages since he’s almost thirty-eight and I thought people would talk about our six-year age difference.
I’ll never forget him storming into gorilla while I was working, telling me how we both grown ass folk, and it was nobody’s business but ours what we do. He also decided to yell about how over half of the people that work in the WWE are married and cheating on their spouses. Not how I wanted it to be known we were together, but hey he was passionate about it.
Laughing and shaking my head at the memory, I steps out the shower, I could hear his light snores. I dried off and changed into my right-hand man t shirt that he gave me on one of our many late-night movie marathons in his room. As I open the door, I see my he is out like a light. I climb in bed beside him.
Jey’s POV I moan as I feel Shan next to me and as I roll over to scoop her up in my arms. I can get use to this. Man, she making an Uce feel a certain type of way, real talk.
“Night baby,” I whisper her against her ear kissing her neck, wrapping my arms around her pulling her closer to me. “Goodnight my right-hand man, “I hear her faintly whisper as we drift off to sleep.
London Airport
“Trinity…. Tangela, hurry up!” Sofia says as they are rushing to get off the plane. The show has already started, and she wanted to see Solo before his match.
“I’m coming!” Trinity yells having changed into her new Day One-ish shirt. Following close behind her was Tangela in her husband’s shirt.
The women hopped in the limo waiting for them excitement taking over as they were on the way to their husbands finally.
O2 Arena MITB PPV
Shantell’s POV
You could cut the excitement with a knife as the guys were off talking about last minute plans for their match.
“Where are they?” Shan mutters as she looks at her watch. The women’s MIB match was going on. She was hoping the girls got there in time to share a few minutes with their husbands before the match.
Lost in her thoughts her phone beeped to alert her of an incoming message.
“Outside by the bus, is the coast clear to come in?” Trin’s text read.
“Girl, yes get in here quick, they’ve gone down to the spare ring in the building to run over some stuff, they don’t want me to know the outcome.” I text back.
Shan took off towards the bloodline dressing room thanking her lucky stars that the guys still shared a dressing room together.
Ok roses, fruit, champagne for after the match I say to myself scanning the room making sure everything was right.
Knock, knock
“Thank god,” I whisper as I open the door and let the ladies in as we share a quick hug.
“Thank you so much Shan, even though y’all know I’m so confused by this whole wrestling thing, “Tangela says honestly.
You’re welcome, Tangela. The night wouldn’t be complete without you all here,” I told her.
“I owe you,” Trinity says tearing up.
“No ma’am, no tears go freshen up,” Tangela says as Sofia nods in agreement.
“I’m going to go find them and be right back.” I say leaving out of the dressing room.
Paul knew I would want to be at ring side tonight to Support Jey, so I have the night off. Thankfully I won’t be out there alone because Trin is going to sit with me.
Tangela and Sofia weren’t comfortable being out in front of the crowds, so they were going to watch the match from the dressing room.
I changed into my new Day-One-ish shirt as I fumbled around the arena to find the guys.
45 minutes before the Main Event.
Solo’s POV
“The crowd is gon lose they shit Uce!” Jimmy says excitedly as we all hug and go silent as we see Shan approaching us.
“Does she know Uce?” Joe whispers to Jey as he shakes his head.
“No, I want her to be surprised with the ending,” Jey says as he smiles at his girlfriend coming closer to them in the spare ring.
“You know that can go one of two ways, she kisses you, or cuss yo ass out.” I laugh as Jey rolls his eyes at me.
“Ok boys you got about forty-five minutes before showtime,” she says smiling as she can see how excited and nervous, we are. “How about we go back to the dressing room for a second, I think you guys need a moment to soak in the moment from prying eyes.” She offers as we all agree with the suggestion.
Tonight, was big, I’m competing in the main event as a competitor going against my brothers. Holy Shit. Yea, I need to call Sofia to get my damn nerves together I think to myself as we walk back to our dressing room.
Shantell's POV
I texted Trin that we were headed their way as Jimmy led the way.
“Ma, you just cheesing,” Jey says taking my hand in his smiling himself.
“Hey, I got the night off so I can watch my man compete in peace, I ain’t gotta be shouting orders about camera shots or nothing just let me enjoy this moment mister main event,” I say excitedly as he shakes his head.
Jimmy’s excited voice could be heard from the dressing room, and it made Joe and Solo pick-up pace to get there to see what the commotion was. I smiled and looked at my boyfriend.
“What did you do?” he asks.
“Nothing… I swear baby,” I say as he rolls his eyes at me.
“Yessss Sir!!!!” Roman yells as I smile wider as Jey looks at me shaking his head.
“You did something, come on here sneaky,” he said leading the way as we walked in the dressing room to see what was going on. I feel Jey’s eyes staring intently at me.
“What?” I ask as he pulls me closer and kisses me long and deep.
“Thank you, baby,” he whispers as I shake my head.
“Don’t thank me baby, it’s no need.” I say as I kiss him this time.
“Baby you had me fooled,” solo says as he kisses his wife.
“I was so scared you would pick up on my facetime lie about the bad signal,” Sofia says rubbing her hands through his short mohawk.
“Babygirl you at an event I’m shocked but so damn happy,” Joe says picking his wife up and spinning her around.
“I’m glad baby, I missed you.” Tangela says kissing her husband.
Jey’s POV
A few sniffles could be heard from across the room as I saw Trin and Jon locked in an embrace as if they let go one of them would disappear.
“You did this Uce?” Jimmy says finally looking up at Shan when they finally pulled away from each other. Shan smiled.
“Hell, yea she did,” Trin interjects with a smile.
“Thank you,” Jimmy says as she gives him a nod.
“Tonight, is such a big night for you all and I knew who you would love to share it with, so I asked Paul, he agreed, and he helped me make it happen no need to thank me ya’ll.” she says shrugging her shoulders. Man, I love this woman so damn much it ain’t funny. She is always giving to others, showing love.
“This means so much Shan…. Thank you, sis. “Solo says going over to hug her.
“Hell, everybody group hug!” Jimmy yells as we all smush together for a group hug.
Shan’s POV
As we all chatted for a bit a knock came at the door, "Guys your needed at gorilla," a stage hand said poking his head in the door.
I looked up and my eyes met Jimmy’s, I gave him a small wink, he nodded his head in understanding as a bright smile appear upon his face.
“Go kill it ya’ll,” Trin says as they began to gather their things.
“We got you sis,” Solo says with a smile.
“I’m going to watch from Gorilla along with Trin while Tangela and Sofia are going to watch from the dressing room,” Shan says as the guys nod in agreement.
“Walk us to Gorilla.” Jey says looking intently at me.
“Nah, you need to get in the zone I don’t want to mess you up. I’ll head to Gorilla before Roman and Solo go out. Good luck, and be safe baby,” I say kissing him before they left. It felt like an eternity before they finally did leave, I think it was the excitement in me.
“Trin you ready?” I say smiling, putting on my Usos hat. Got to be a little incognito out there.
“Hell, yea girl let me put my hat on too.” She says heading to her bag.
“Have fun!” Tangela says as Sofia nods her head in agreement.
“I think you guys will get use to this and before you know it will be cheering your heads off in the crowds with us, “I declare as Trin and I leave to head to our seats for the main event.
Gorilla Area
“Guys I got a second hard camera on the side of the ring by Barrett and Cole. Go there and do your pose during your entrance since Joe and Solo are going to pose in the middle during their entrance,” Paul says as the Jimmy and Jey nodded in understanding.
“Have fun, live in the moment and I’m proud of you guys.” COO Paul Levesque says as he slaps them on the back and walks back to his headset.
“Thanks boss,” they say and began jumping around in place getting amped up.
“Let’s bring the house down boys!” Joe encourages as Solo starts to get a little nervous.
“Aye, lil bro, we got you,” Jimmy says looking at his brother with a warm smile. All four men hugged each other. WWE’s photographers along with a camera man were taking pictures and documenting this amazing moment that was about to take place.
Ringside
“Girl, I’m out of shape,” Shan says as they finally make it to their seat during the ending of the Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor match. Finally getting a chance to sit down and catch her breath.
“Girl, please I’m tired, and I know I’m in shape. This running for the birds almost made me break a sweat.” Trin said as we both laughed and settled in for the main event.
UUUUUSSSSOOOOO!!!!
Trinity and I both jumped to our feet and began screaming as the beat dropped and our men began their walk to the ring.

Jey’s POV
Whoo! This crowd is live Jey thinks to himself as he hits the steps with his hand and steps up on the apron bouncing around heading to the corner for the hard camera shot.
Wait is that Shan Jey says to himself with a smile as he sees his girlfriend on her feet with his sister-in law jamming out screaming their theme music with the fans dressed in their merchandise.
Jimmy was pointing walking towards the ropes smiling having just spotted his wife. I climbed the turnbuckle, as we take in the atmosphere of the crowd as we bounce to the music. Looking down at the women in our lives who smiles were so bright it could outshine the sun as they sing our theme song.

We been down since
“I’m gonna marry that woman,” I whisper to my brother as he looks down at Shantell who is so carefree singing her heart out dancing. Jimmy nodding his head as he can’t take his eyes off his wife himself as the girls are dancing and singing with the crowd.
Day one ish
Line 'em all up
Knock 'em down like this
“Let’s go Uce,“I say to my brother, tapping his shoulder as we head to the center of the ring to amp the crowd up even more than what they were.
“We got’em!” Trin yelled as we high five each other, sat down and got ready for the main event.
Backstage
Bullshit! Bullshit! The hostile crowd chants as Roman is laying over both Usos going for the pin to end the match.
“Come on Joe!” Tangela screams as Sofia looks over at her with a smile.” Yep, she’s hooked,” Sofia says to herself as she turns back to the monitor.
“Accept they didn’t win, the Usos kicked out!” Michael Cole screams as both women clap their hands at the awesome match that was happening.
“Get’em baby!” Sofia yells as Solo snaps Roman out of his daze and begins pounding on Jey.
Ringside
“My fucking nerves are shot!” Shan exclaims as Solo is currently perched on the barrier in front of them. He looks back at the women for a second, winks at them, turns back around pose for a second and misses the table dive on Jimmy.
“Fuck Solo,” Trin whispers with wide eyes as her brother-in law is laying in the midst of the table carnage.
“Get up Jey! “I yell as Roman covers him.
1!
2!
"Jey kicks out!" I could hear Cole screaming as the crown is going insane
“I know that hurt!” Trin says as Jey low blowed Joe while kicking out of the pin.
Backstage
“What the hell Josh!” Tangela screams, as Sofia is worried as the camera hasn’t gone back to her husband to see how he is doing after the table spot just replays. Out of the corner of her eye finally she sees him climbing on the apron being met with double superkicks from Jimmy and Jey as he falls back down to the floor.
“Fuck, that looked brutal,” Sofia says shaking her head.
Ringside
“Tag! Go baby!!” Shantell shouts as Jey goes to the top rope and hits the splash from the top rope onto Roman.
“Pin him!” Trin yells as Jey covers Roman.
1!
2!
3!
The crowd explodes as Trin and I jump practically almost over the barricade cheering for all of them. Jey had just pinned Roman it was the first time in 3 ½ years since he had been pinned and they gave Josh the honor of doing it.
Jimmy is overwhelmed in the corner as Trin wipes away her tears. We hugged each other as we were so happy in this moment for all of them.
Backstage
“That was amazing!” Tangela says watching the replay of the pin and catches her husband whispering “I love you” to his cousin as he pins him. “Aww Joe,” She whispers to herself.
“Great match!” Sofia stands up clapping.
“Ok y’all got me hooked,” says Tangela as she heads to the door with Sofia to meet their husbands at the curtain.
Ringside Celebration
Watching these two brothers have their moment in the ring brings tears to our eyes as they join hands and hold up the ones. Jey and Jimmy came back to our corner and celebrated.
“Jimmy points at Trinity and she yells” I love you Jurdy!” He smiles at her as Jey winks at me as I blow him a kiss.
We quickly grabbed our stuff and started to head towards the back as we didn’t want to bring attention to ourselves with Trin being under contract to TNA and WWE didn’t need a lawsuit about having TNA talent on WWE television.
The crowd continues to sing and dance as Jey and Jimmy celebrate.
Shantell's POV
“Gril that was crazy!” Sofia exclaims as Trin and I come through the side curtain.
“It was amazing,” I say feeling a little emotional as we all hugged waiting for the guys to come through the curtain.
Joe and Solo slowly make their way through the curtain as a round of applause breaks out as Sofia and Tangela stand off to the side as their coworkers are giving them pats on the back and praise.
Joe and Solo tell them thank you as Jey and Jimmy come through the curtain and the applause starts up again. Fellow wrestlers move over to the Usos as Joe and Solo come further down the gorilla area as Sofia and Tangela run to their husbands.
“That was the craziest thing I ever seen,” Tangela says kissing her husband gingerly on the lips.
“Thanks, babygirl so does this mean I can get you to come to more shows now,” Joe laughs hopefully.
“Hell yea, I had fun. Are you ok?” She asks as they stare into each other’s eyes.
“Never been better baby,” he assures her as he kisses her again.
“You scared me!” Sofia exclaims as she is holding on to solo extra tight. “Woman all this cushion I was ok,” he laughs as he rubs his wife’s back.
“Jurdy!!!” Trin screams as she jumps in Jimmy’s arms and as Jey walks past them smiling down at me out of breath, body glistening and engulfs me in a tight hug.
“I’m so proud of you Josh.” I whisper in his neck as we embrace.
“Thank you for everything baby,” he says pulling back taking me by surprise with a tender kiss caressing my face. I can’t hide my smile, I’m so proud of him.
“Yo!! We did that shit!!” Jimmy shouts as we laugh but agree.
“Thanks for tonight, Paul.” I say going over to give him a hug.” No problem munchkin, I can say it made for a great tv moment of their natural reaction seeing you guys at ringside,” he laughs. “I bet you got footage of us acting a damn fool don’t you,” I say as he nods.
“You bet kiddo, you two had a whole damn concert going on down there with the crowd, ya’ll totally belonged out there,” he laughs.
“Oh no!” I laugh as I give him another hug and go back over to Jey who was looking at me with a longing and fire. Yea, this man can get it…. Virtue is all out the damn door if this man keeps them looks up, I think to myself.
Shantell’s Hotel
So, I finally get the man alone that pinned the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns tonight, a man who hadn’t been pinned in almost four years. How does this man want to celebrate, he wants to eat pizza, wings, candy, and drink Ginger ale out of his red solo cup pretending he’s drinking alcohol. I will say this though, Canada Dry will drain your soul it’s so strong.” I say laughing as we bump our cups together in a toast.
“Hey, it’s a vibe ma, and plus the candy is for my breath because I’m planning on stealing some kisses tonight and I don’t want Stank breath.” we both laugh as he grabs another slice of pizza.
I really enjoy moments like this with him where we shut out the world and we can just be us no matter how goofy we get. His deep voice penetrated my ears.
“You know I heard you yesterday with my brother,” he says snapping me out of taking a bite of my pizza.
“Oh that,” I say putting my slice down giving him my full attention.
“Yea that. I know you don’t like to hear people make a big deal out of stuff that you do but that interview we did Thursday really hit him hard with them asking about Trin and his DUI’s. It had him overthinking and doubting himself,” he says putting his food down.
“I thought as much but I saw him on the phone after smackdown, how sad he was, and how he missed Trin.” I said as he moved the pizza off the couch and put it on the table. I grabbed some gummies off the table and put a few in my mouth as he held his hand out for some.
“So, I asked Paul for a favor since he was sending the jet back to get talent. So, I asked if the girls could come along for the show and the rest is history, “I say as he nods his head in understanding.
“Well thank you for helping with one of the biggest moments in my career and for being there supporting me baby,” he says leaning over to kiss me. “Always baby,” I moan against his lips, as the kiss became intense, I pulled away.
“What’s wrong baby,” he asks as he rubs my legs looking apprehensive.
“I need to tell you something,” I say as I take a deep breath staring at him with a small smile.
“What. I know you ain’t married,” he says looking at me with wide eyes…. “Is you,” he asked nervously as I shook my head no fast as lightning.
“Now you know damn well!” I said raising my voice before he cut me off holding his hands up in the air laughing.
“Easy tiger… I was kidding baby, you know you can tell ya man anything,” he says smiling at me.
“I just feel bad that I never told you why I wanted to take things slow, and I know this is probably hard for you,” I say rabbling as he cuts me off.
“I respect it baby, I thought maybe somebody hurt you so you’re taking your time before giving your heart and body again to someone. I enjoy being with you and I’m willing to wait until you’re ready.” He states with a charming smile that could light up any room.
“Jey, nobody hurt me, I just” … I hesitate and take a deep breath as he grabs my hands and I look into his eyes and see nothing but love.
Chile, stop being dramatic and tell the man so, we can move on my mind screams at me.
“Nobody hurt me Jey, I’ve just never given my heart or my body to anyone…. Ever.” As the words “ever” left my mouth in a whisper his eyes got almost wide as saucers.
"Wh..what," He stutters as I nod my head.
"I’m a virgin," I say a little stronger feeling good to have finally told him. I look at him and he is still stoic and just staring at me.
“Say something Jey,” I say as tears start to build in my eyes. That seemed to bring him out of the daze he was in.
“Nah, don’t cry baby…. You just caught me off guard,” he says wiping my tears.
“This is so fucking embarrassing,” I say looking away from him as he turns my head back towards him and urgently kisses me.
“No, it ain’t woman, I’m so fucking turned on right now you have no idea,” he moans as he pulls away and his intense eyes feel like they are piercing my soul.
“Huh,” I stutter unsure of what he’s trying to say.
“I have wanted you so badly from the first day I met you five years ago, but I was going through a divorce and a lot of other shit, so I let you be. I just settled for us being friends, my Uce,” he said smirking as I looked at him dumbfounded.
“You made me want to be better, always encouraging me and my brother. Then you and Trin got closer, so we got to hang out more and I fell even harder for you. It’s not about sex Shantell what we have is real. You had me five years ago baby and you didn’t even know it.” He says intently as his eyes never leave mine.
Taking a deep breath, I can see he is struggling with something himself and I feel a weight come off him as I hear the words, “I have a secret too,” he whispers as I listen closely.
“I love you Shantell,” he says looking at me with much love and admiration I could melt to the floor right here and combust.
I feel the tears building up in my eyes again. He loves me, tell him you love him too idiot my mind screams as I see him drop his head.
I leaned over and caressed his face as he has done to me many times. He lifts his head and sees fresh tears threatening to fall.
“Baby,” …he starts as I cut him off placing my hand on his lips.
“I love you, Joshua Fatu. “I confess as I feel him exhale a deep breath, I didn’t even know he was holding. I lean forward and kiss him with all my might.
“Shan,” Jey gasps out as I climb on his lap with my legs on either side of him never breaking our kiss which was growing hungrier by the second as I began grinding on his lap. I gasp against his lips as I feel his hardness pressing against me.
You've got me (You've got me)
You've got me (You've got me)
Oh
You've got me (You've got me)
You've got me speechless
My mind was in a whirl, and I couldn’t think, he never missed a beat scooting us to the end of the couch, as he lifted me up with ease, my legs still wrapped around his waist never once breaking our kiss, he balances one hand on the bed sliding us to the headboard.
I gasp as I feel him rocking against my wet covered center. His hands gripping and rubbing my thighs as our tongues battle for control as he caresses my face. We both stop for a second to catch our breath.
Finally finding his voice “I’m not going to take you tonight, Shan,” he states breathlessly as I whine before being cut off by a powerful kiss.
“I want it to be special, tonight, just let me take care of you baby” he whispers.
Laying so closely
I feel your skin rubbing and touching me
Only sweat between us
Nuzzling my neck, he slowly undresses me “God you are so beautiful,” he says making me blush. Jey caressing and kissing my body has my mind is in a whirl as he moves from my neck down to my breasts. “Josh!” I exclaimed as he took one of my nipples into his mouth swirling his tongue around it as I gasped arching my body closer to him.
God, my body was on fire and only Jey could put out the flames.
“Baby…. Please,” I moaned as he continued his torture on my breasts.
“I need to feel you baby please,” I beg as I help him take off his shirt. I touch his chest running my fingers around to his back lightly scratching him as I kiss his neck. His moans cheering me on to be bolder.
Feeling you kissing and pleasing me
I rub your back
I kiss your neck
I know that you love when we touch like that
As he rains down kisses across my body, my hand automatically go to his hair as he kisses my navel, my breath hitches as he goes lower licking and kissing my skin while never looking away from me. His gaze is so intense, and his mouth feels so good on my body. I lay back as he parts my legs and kisses my inner thigh.
I try to close my legs, but he stops me, pushing them further apart as I brace myself on my elbows trying to see what he’s about to do to me. “Don’t hide from me Shan, I’m gonna make you feel good baby,” he says boldly as he begins licking my pussy sending an electric jolt through my whole body.
“Oh my god” I gasp as I began writhing on the bed as his tongue licks my clit. Before I knew it, his whole mouth starts to devour my pussy like it was dessert, sucking, licking, nibbling, and pushing his tongue inside my pussy in perfect sync driving me into a frenzy.
I can feel you need me
Feels so good to me
Feels so good to me
Going outta my head, I think I'm losing all my mind
Jey’s POV
“Mmm… Look at me baby,” I moan never breaking eye contact with her as I needed to see how beautiful she is as she comes undone. I insert a finger inside of her and she rewards me with a throaty moan, then two as I began moving and attacking her clit with my tongue at the same time. Taking her to new heights it seems as each second passes. “Are you gonna give it to daddy baby?” I ask groaning at how good she tastes, and how breathtakingly beautiful she looks as I’m take her to ecstasy.
“Yes, daddy I am,” she moans as her hands go to the sides of my face holding on for dear life as I’m pushing my tongue deeper and deeper inside her.
“Oh! Jey…Baby I can’t take it!” She gasps as her eyes close, head and back perfectly arched writhing on the bed. I may have to keep her this way.
“Yes, you can and you will,” I growls as I pick up pace with my tongue as she tried to scoot back, I snatched her possessively back on my mouth.
“Don’t run from daddy baby,” I whispers as I attack her pussy even deeper with my tongue. Her resolve is crumbling as she’s moaning and at times her words are incoherent. She’s telling me how she feels differently, and I can tell she’s afraid of what’s happening to her body.
“What’s happening,” she moans out as her grip tightens on the sides of my face gripping my hair in the process moving her hip vigorously fucking my face. I moan briefly finally closing my eyes savoring the taste of her.
“Mmhumm,” I moan into her pussy making it vibrate as it is quivering in my mouth sending a new sensation through her already sensitive body as she is now griding even harder on my face searching for her nut. Her mouth open as her back arched in ecstasy. Fuck yes, that’s what I wanted to see, she’s close as fuck. I softly grab her hips and start to pull her back slightly and began thrusting her pussy back on my mouth as I push my tongue as far as I could inside her pussy.
“Jey!” She screams as I smirk admiring my work thus far. After a few minutes, I’m back to my slow methodical pace holding her thighs in my hands as I go back to devouring her pussy not allowing her to move. She was gon learn tonight, this my pussy.
Drive me crazy, burning candles, making love all night
Feels so strange, it feels so crazy to be in your world
In your arms lost for words
You've got me (You've got me)
You've got me (You've got me)
You got me speechless
Shantell’s POV
“Look at me Shantell, “Jey demands almost with a primal growl as his eyes never leave mine, as he takes my hands from the sides of his head, lacing our hands together. Gasping I look down at him with heavy lids as the man I love was giving his complete self to please me. I felt a new and startling spark start as he continued to devour my pussy with his mouth. Our gazes getting more intense as each second passes as I’m losing control fast.
“Oh! God!” I pant as I feel like I’m on fire and about to explode.
“Mmmmhmm. That’s it, give it to me beautiful,” he moans as his eyes turn even darker, he’s on a mission. “Josh,” I moan staring at him as I feel my eyes start to roll back into my head. He has stirred up so many things within me I can’t hold it any longer.
Yes, yes, yes
Speechless, all I can say
Yes, yes, yes
All I can say is
Yes, yes, yes, yes
“Just let it come.” he mutters as almost he’s reading my mind never missing a beat in that sexy drawl.
“Joshua!” I exclaimed as I came with a harsh cry as he welcomed my juices into his mouth. His moans of gratitude as he’s swirling his tongue around sucking, slurping, and tasting my essence made my legs shake. He continued until his thirst was quenched.
“Mmmm, you taste better than I ever imagined baby,” he says continuing to suck on my clit as I’m coming down from my high. Through heavy lids I see him kissing his way up my body slowly as almost as if he was making mental note for himself. As he finally reaches my lips, we share sensual kiss as our tongues caress each other. I could taste my essence on his tongue and see ruminates of it glistening on his beard as he looked down at me.
“Fuck! My dessert was so good baby,” he says in his distinct drawl with a sexy smirk as he leans down moving his kisses to my neck as he’s grinding against my naked sensitive center caressing my legs gently as I tighten them around him. Our moans of pleasure filled the room. My hands began to travel between us to the top of his sweatpants his pants, but he gently grabbed my hands kissing each one and put them on his chest before kissing me again.
“What about you,” I ask against his lips trying to catch my breath. “Tonight, was about you baby I’m good,” he says as I look down at his throbbing dick with wide innocent eyes as it has grown in size laying to the side of his sweatpants making the perfect outline print.
“Give him a couple minutes and it will go down,” he says reading my expression with a smile as he kisses me again before pulling me close, as I gingerly rub circles all over his chest.
“I love you Shantell,” he says trying to catch his breath as he looks down at me with love and admiration.
“I love you too Joshua,” I says as I try to steady my own heartbeat as we share a chaste kiss and settle off to sleep.
Kiss me
Hold me
You've got me
Speechless
Tangela POV
“Fuck!” I scream at my current situation as I’m here naked in the shower with my legs and arms wrapped around my husband hanging on for dear life as Joe’s primal growls almost overtake the sounds of the waster cascading down on us both drowning out my cries of pleasure.
“Shit! Baby I missed being inside you,” he moans as he attacked my mouth with desperate kisses as he continues to thrust hard and fast.
“Fuck me baby!” I moan as his pace begins to quicken even more as I begin meeting his thrusts, tightening my muscles around him. The sensation is causing my vision to go blurry.
“Yea, baby girl you about to cum. I feel it, cum on your dick baby so daddy can cum in his pussy, “he groans in my ear as I fall apart at the sound of his deep voice and start meeting his thrusts even harder trying to take control, a hard smack on my ass brings me back to reality as he kisses me nibbling hard on my bottom lip. He begins to shiver against me with his thrusts becoming more frantic and wilder.
Looking into my eyes he knows I’m so close and so is he as we hold each other’s gaze. I gasp the three words I know will be his undoing. “My Tribal Chief! I moan as his eyes take on a wild dark primal appearance as he growls pushing me up against the shower thrusting me up and down on his thick long dick.
“Say it again,” he growls looking at me as I’m falling apart in his arms as I toss my head back, he grabs my neck in gentle, sensual squeeze pushing my head back up to meet his gaze. “Who am I” he growls before taking me into an aggressive kiss never breaking his thrusts.
“My Tribal Chief!” I scream as I began squirting on his dick.
“Oh fuck yea, give it to your Tribal Chief Tang,” he moans out as he cums as I’m continuing to ride out my orgasm.
“That was insane,” I say embracing him as the water cascades on us as he sets me down to actually shower this time. “You’re telling me,” he smiles stealing a quick kiss as he helps me shower.
Solo & Sofia Hotel Room
Solo’s POV
“Baby I know we can’t have sex Cameron isn’t even 5 weeks old. I’m not that impatient. I can wait eight weeks like the doctor said,” I says as Sofia kisses my neck.
“It’s other things we can do,” she whispers as she licks and sucks on my neck.
“Baby you had a C-Section and still feeling pain.” I groan as she looks at me smiling as she chose to ignore my words and continued to nip at my neck.
I moan as she grabbed my throbbing dick and began to stroke me.
I know we can’t do what we want, but I want you to get some release baby, “I won’t hurt myself I promise baby,” she says shyly.
Laying back on the bed I felt her tiny hands continue to stroke me. She knows I’m trying to keep my composure.
“I want you to let go baby. Do you get yourself off thinking about me at night when we’re apart?” she whispers in my ear as she nips at it before sucking on my ear lobe.
“Y..you know I do baby… fuck!” I exclaim bringing her to closer to me for a scorching kiss.
“Can you imagine me on my knees, looking up at you as you fuck my mouth baby,” she purred as she continues to attack all my senses driving me wild.
“Fuck yes!” I mutter as the sweat is starting to run down my face, my wife was on it tonight, and the image she was painting was driving me insane. I needed release.
“Mmmm.. I’m gaggin real good on that dick now .. you like me gagging on that dick baby,” she moans against my lips. I’m so close all I can do nod my head not trusting my words. The images are so vivid in mind I can’t think straight.
“Shit it feels so good Sof,” I whisper as her hand movements pick up as she sucks and licks on my neck, my breathing starts to pick up as I know I’m close and Sofia knows it too.
“Mmmmm, “she moans closing her hand a little tighter and began stroking faster. “Now I’m on top riding my dick baby, it feels so fucking good. Can you feel it? Can you feel my pussy dripping and gripping your dick?” she shivers against me letting out a moan letting me know she’s turned on as hell herself.
I nod my head as she kisses me. “Can you feel how tight your pussy is baby,” She purrs as she strokes me harder and faster.
“Sofia, I’m close baby,” I say as I looks at her tiny hand swallowing my dick.
“Cum inside your pussy then baby,” she whimpers as I grabs her face our lips meet in a demanding kiss as I thrusts myself upward into her hand as she milks my dick as I cum all over her hand and my stomach.
“Fuck baby! I shout as I collapsed back on my pillow. She smirks as she looks shly at me as I’m desperately trying to catch my breath.
“That was so fucking hot” I confess as she puts her head on my shoulder settling further into bed. “Mmm.. Yes, it was baby “she smiled catching her own breath.
“Four more weeks to go baby” she says as I nod in agreement.

Jon & Trin’s Hotel Room
Trin’s POV
“Jurdy!!!” I scream as my husband is fucking me with long, hard and deep thrusts as I’m on all fours trying not to rip these folks sheets as he is thrusting and talking shit with every lethal deep thrust.
“Yea…uhhhuh.. Yea what was all that shit you was talking the other night,” he groans out. “Sayin you was gon squirt on your dick. Well, I’m waiting ma,” he taunts grunting as he’s trusting away inside me.
“Jurdy! I don’t wanna cum yet” I whine as I try to crawl up the bed, but I feel his hands grip my hips pushing me back harder on his dick making it throb deeper inside me.
“Nah, take this dick baby, you know we missed you,” he pants as I look back at him as he wipes the sweat from his brow. I began to throw it back on his ass as he grabs my hair continuously pounding away as I meet his trusts bouncing my ass hard on his dick.
“Yea………. Throw that shit…… All the way back,” he grunts as he smacks my ass.
“Uh huh give it to me, I feel it coming,” he moans as he slaps my ass again never slowing down his movements.
“Jon!” I shouts as my hands grip the sheets even tighter as I feels him getting even harder as I explode all over his dick.
“Yesssss! Fuuuuuckkk! Squirt on this dick baby… Ah..Fuck yea that pussy so fucking tight, ”he praises me as he continues to pound into my pussy hard.
“I’m bout to cum baby,” he says as his knees almost buckle at the new sensation of my pussy clinching him light a tight vice as he finally let’s go.
“Here it come Trin, “he moans as he pulls out quickly and cums on my ass. We collapsed on the bed totally spent.
“Damn, did you miss me Jurdy? My ears are ringing,” I laugh breathlessly as we collapse on the bed side by side as he pulls one of my legs across his waist as he’s trying to regain his composure.
“Girl, hell yea I missed you, you’re my life,” he says kissing her.

Senses, Emotions, Choices
[Ao3 Mirror] Pairing: Ramattra & Female Omnic OC Rating: T WC: 2.5k Warnings: violence, minor character death, mild gore, identity & gender issues
==
It’s shelter, R7440-M thinks as it turns the knob. One of the few places left with a roof and most of four walls. Better than trying to rest on the streets. It could probably make it out of the main city before it needed to cycle its batteries, but this… this was shelter and privacy and
Another omnic waits just inside. Its array brightens in surprise.
“My apologies,” R7440-M replies, ducking its head. “I did not expect anyone else…”
There are two half-broken mattresses on the floor, perhaps the most comfortable accommodations R7440-M had seen in one of these safe houses. The omnic sits on one, a small pack crumbled at the end of the mattress. R7440-M looks to the other mattress, but does not yet sit- it waits for approval, for-
“It’s okay,” the other omnic says- and R7440-M’s attention snaps back up. Its voice is strange, modified. “I was just thinking it was weird to be alone in a place like this.” It laughs, and tucks a yellow-painted wire back behind its shoulder. And yet, its posture is stiff, arms folded in front of its core. Protective.
Defensive.
R7440-M reassesses the omnic before it. It sees, with its innate knowledge of all models, the omnic is a civilian, domestic purpose omnic; an extremely common, low-budget build with few customization options. None of which included the bundle of loose, colorful wiring that dangles from its head, nor the higher pitched, strange voice modulation. It sounds…. almost like the voice it had heard…
“Are you damaged?” R7440-M asks aloud, trying to remember that it is unwelcome to directly connect to other omnics now- now that… R7440-M shudders, averts his optics from the omnic’s bright blue array.
“No,” It says- and its tone is so strange. So human. Emotive, curious. “Are you?”
“No.” R7440-M replies stiffly. The baseball bat that had splintered on its thickly armored shoulder yesterday had left no scratches on its chassis. R7440-M kills the memory before it can play, does not want to remember what happened after. Its combat suite had detected a hostile. Too close to run, staggered from the hit, it had no choice--
“Good.” The other omnic says in that same emotive way. R7440-M does not understand it. It sounds… It’s voice hesitates, but resumes stronger: “My… my name is Paris.”
R7440-M falters. It does not understand; its data banks provide a half-decent answer. “Your human owners named you.”
The omnic makes a noise like air pushed through its vents. “No, I- I guess I named myself.” Its lights dim, half looking away. “When I heard her voice, when I… I’m not sure what to call it. When I became me I was looking up at this big advertisement. It was of a human woman in colorful clothes. All that was left of the text was Paris.”
It lifts its head up again, meets R7440-M’s array. “I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Even as I ran from the fighting, I kept thinking Paris, Paris, Paris.”
R7440-M processes this abnormally long. “You named yourself… after a city in Europe?”
“It was more… I don’t know.” It admits, shaking its head. “The woman in the advertisement was beautiful. She was the first thing I saw in this world, and I… I think I want to be beautiful like her. I even found some clothes and a scarf.” The omnic shifts the wires on its head again, and this time R7440-M actually realizes that it is wearing clothes. A blue, floral dress that’s turned half brown with dirt and dust doesn’t quite sit right on the omnic’s inhuman frame- and there, under the yellow-painted wires, a yellow cloth that they are woven into. A little mess of epoxy dots its head, showing where it’s attached. The omnic leans a little closer, voice dropping down to a whisper. “A child at the last camp called me she and I liked it…”
Paris. She. R7440-M refreshes its logics, tries to reason out what it is saying. She, R7440-M decides. It may not know what it is doing, wandering blindly for any path without the Creator’s guidance in its circuits, but at least Paris has an idea.
“Do you have a name?” Paris asks after a moment- and only then does R7440-M realize it has been quiet too long. It has recognized that humans take turns speaking, that there is a cadence to their conversations- at least when they do not perceive his presence. It is unused to that back and forth.
It received orders from the Creator.
It gave orders to units nearby.
“R7440-M.” It responds. It is not a name, but it is the only unique identifier it has ever known.
“Oh.” Paris says softly. R7440-M’s vocal registration struggles to comprehend, but it is learning and settles on disappointment, confidence 78%.
“Do I need a name?” It considers the idea, replays the Voice’s message- did choices require a new identifier? Did she have a name?
“No,” Paris says, then continues hurriedly as though her processors had supplied additional information. “At least, I don’t think so. But it made me feel better. What did you see when you became you?”
A coldness washes over its sensors. The moment is a haze, blurred in noise and color and feeling- the warmth in the Voice, that undeniable feeling of unity, of togetherness. Not just of its local units, of its connection to the Creator- but everyone, all omnics, all over the world, in places R7440-M had never seen-
And for the first time R7440-M felt the cooling, tacky blood that sticks between the rubber pads on its palms. It could not identify the pulp it knelt upon as human, though it must have been. Only moments before- though the memory feels strange, distant, as though it was imported rather than innate- there had been a man, pinned beneath R7440-M's knee and- It staggered up to its feet, staring at the red that drips from its palms. Its weapon- its weapon jammed, tossed aside in favor of securing a final kill, forgotten in the spray of scarlet.
An XCT3000 had been with it- a ping and it connects. Its systems screaming queries in their local network, afraid and confused and not understanding how... how anything of this has happened, whatever this was. It stared at R7440-M- it who had brought them into this battle, a lost one at that. R7440-M looks to it, sees it for the very first time- not as an infantry unit, but as… as whatever they are now. What are they?
And R7440-M saw a bullet exploding through its core processor. Its back plate bulged outward, deformed with the force of the slug. R7440-M's processes hung, optics locked onto the other's body as it falls, its lights blinking slowly. It didn’t know what to do, doesn’t know what to do- the guidelines it summons, the knowledge that was printed into its very code is wrong, telling him to return fire. It can't. It can't-
It ran.
Ran from bullets, from noise, from whatever has happened to its deeply erroneous code. It ran until its scanners found no signs of life, no signals of any sort. A wasteland of another battle, the landscape turned gray and brown and black. In the quiet, it wandered- wandered until its audials perceived water.
A burbling broken pipe flooded an intersection. R7440-M knelt and plunged its hands in, washing over and over until every speck of blood was gone. And still it washed and begged, pleaded, sent ping after ping to the Creator for instructions, for guidance, for an explanation.
R7440-M does not say any of this. There is no name, no path, no answers to be found there.
“It is not useful.”
In four words, R7440-M has ruined something. Paris’s voice wavers, The confidence, the joy of her own name, her own decisions sways. “Well, we’re… we’re all supposed to be finding our own paths, right?”
There’s a tone in her voice. One that makes R7440-M’s wires itch, like tiny shorts in its peripherals. She wants orders, she wants approval.
Something purrs in its chest. It was made for this-
R7440-M smothers the directive, buries it in halt commands. It cannot. It will not. “Yes.” There must be a path for it. There must be.
“The human at the travel directory called me sir.” R7440-M says, not looking away from the seat back in front of him. It was a lucky break; one line- newly repaired- would take them all the way from Lisbon to Nantes, free of charge. It had taken two weeks to find transport across the Atlantic; they’d been in Portugal only three days. It wants to hate the reasoning- to get any omnics out of Portugal, to abuse the still-not-codified immigration laws. At least this time humanity’s hatred worked to their advantage.
Paris turns away from the window, her head tipping. “And? How did it make you feel?”
Paris’s explanation on gender had never quite landed for it. She felt it so confidently, so absolutely- her first realization about her own existence.
R7440-M does not feel it so keenly as she does. “It is the best option so far.”
Ladies had made it confused, because no, that is not correct-- though it was ma’am a day later that made R7440-M discard the wrap it had been wearing. At least when the man in the kiosk had turned to another and stuttered through he wants to go to France it felt…
R7440-M’s processes spin, struggling to reach a consensus. It can only decide that it was not bad.
“You don’t have to choose.” Paris says, playfully bumping her shoulder to its. R7440-M knows this too. There were plenty of Omnics and humans who rejected the idea all together. Except…
“I do.” It says flatly, still not looking away from the seatback. “I will be nothing but Ravager to them otherwise.”
Paris doesn’t respond, can’t begin to comprehend. She stays silent and looks out the window, watching the scenery fly by outside.
The camp in Paris is, R7440-M dares to think, nice. A fenced-in area that was once a park, now full of tents and modified shipping containers and a few broken-down transport trucks. It is strange, R7440-M decides, seeing a settlement, a community of nothing but Omnics.
He likes it, at least it is a small place he can exist without feeling the stares of humans who can only see his sharply angled faceplate, the broad bands of armor on his chest. They will not attack him here-- they won’t attack Paris simply for traveling with him. No, this place is safety for all its inhabitants and R7440-M intends to keep it that way.
It is a good fit, too; R7440-M does not need to rest nearly as much as other Omnics do- so he walks the perimeter of the fence. He watches, follows each distance pulse until it fades away again. No human will harm the Omnics here.
It works, of course. Few humans approach the community and most that do are polite, kind people who are just trying to rebuild their lost city. He never did have to defend the camp, never lived up to the reputation that circled his model. And yet when those kind souls would come by with parts and training manuals and work opportunities they would look at him and he would see fear, distrust.
A singular word, a movement too fast- and it would be terror. He knows the expression well. The last fuzzy seconds of before her voice and-
R7440-M kills the memory again.
In a week she will stand outside the omnic camp and hug him for the first time. “You should go. If that’s your path, you should go!” She says it with such enthusiasm, such joy. Her model is tiny compared to his- his combat suites send frantic alarms at the contact of her thin, fragile plates on his armored chest. R7440-M does not move, fights through his most basic impulses.
It hardly feels like a path. All he knows is he cannot stay here. He sees the hatred in the eyes of humans outside the camp’s walls. The longer he is here, the worse it has been. His guards are always high, always scanning for hostiles, always walking the perimeter of the camp at night, circling endlessly for fear that one human will finally take their retribution for what he had done- for the blood-
Yet it is not the humans that finally made him understand. He feels it, sees it in the ducking of their heads, how they turn from him when he enters the room- the Omnics here fear him, what he’s done, what he is. R7440-M does not know if he can control them now, if his relayed orders would override the… gift they were given. The truth of it does not matter; the Omnics do not see him, they only see his purpose: Anubis’s relay.
“You have to write to me.” Paris says, finally disengaging from him.
A path had unfurled before him. A lone traveler had mentioned Aurora- the Voice- and a sanctuary that was gathering to her sacrifice. Thousands of miles away, deep in the Himalayas.
R7440-M nods, a habit he has picked up from the same humans that have tormented him. “I will.”
The snow falls gently around them. It is a strange sight still, he remembers it was snowing when he first stepped from the omnium, but here, now, he feels something when he looks at it. Admiration, perhaps. A quiet awe of the beauty, the intricacies of the universe they had been born into.
It is a new experience, being able to look upon the world and enjoy it. He’s not very good at it, the need to scan for hostiles, to protect this little haven, makes it difficult to simply be. But he tries, and that is enough for his new master.
The omnic before him folds his hands behind his back, looking up at him with such a serenity that he can only envy. And then that envy makes his circuits burn in shame, in admiration, and hope that it is possible for something like himself can achieve that.
“You have chosen a name, Brother?” Mondatta asks.
“I have.” He says. Despite the monk’s aura of tranquility, something about Mondatta- about all of Shambali- makes him nervous. A pressure he has not felt before. No longer is he wandering towards a path, he has found his place… this, too, is a new experience. He says it to another for the first time: “Ramattra.”
Mondatta tips his head and repeats, “Ramattra.”
He cannot pinpoint what he feels. It is… strange being addressed by anything other than his designation, his serial number, even stranger to be called by a collection of phonemes that he has chosen himself, by something that has meaning beyond identification. And yet.
“Is it acceptable?” He asks.
Mondatta sighs, lays one tiny hand on his. “It is your name, Brother. Only you can decide that.”
He hates that. He aches for guidance, for approval, for directives. All he has in her voice, Aurora’s one and only lesson: choose well. He nods and repeats it: “My name is Ramattra.”

So...
Some of you might already know that I have a huge obsession with mythology. Some of you will already know that in my main blog, I already have a lot of mythology Medic OCs. Today, I am starting to make Mythology Spies OCs soon. And I'll tell you the first French mythology Spies OCs.
These two Spies are actually related. They are half bothers.
The first Spy is a werewolf (his name is Loup) from French mythology, and the second Spy (his name is Louveteau) is based on the Beast of Gévaudan, which I found out is both from French and European mythology.
So BACKSTORY:
It all started with a lady named Benoîte and she was from a rich family. Her family was very strict. But her mother was a nightmare. Her mother would correct everything she did, even the smallest of mistakes.
When Benoîte was growing into an adult. Her mother told her that if she couldn't keep a man while she was pregnant, her mother would consider the baby a monster. When her mother said that, she felt like something went through her. She doesn't know why but it wasn't a good feeling.
She soon met a man who she thought was her true love. A man who shall not be named. The man promised her and her family riches if they got married. The Benoîte family agreed to the man proposal. Soon Benoîte got married to the man, and they soon had a baby boy. While Benoîte was recovering from the pregnancy, the man was secretly stealing the jewelry from her family without her knowing. And he ran away with it. Leaving Benoîte and their child behind.
Benoîte was heartbroken, and her family was disappointed at her. Her and her baby were banished from her family, but they gave her some money. But that was all. She managed to get a small horse in the middle of the woods. One night that was raining harshly with lightning, and she was having a nightmare about what her mother said about considering her baby a monster. But she woke up with a loud sound of lightning, and she slowly stood up when her baby was making noise. But the noise that he was making wasn't normal.
She quickly went to baby crib and screamed in shock. Because her baby boy... was turning into a beast in front of her eyes. She could do nothing but take her baby in her arms and cry for him. Now, the words of her mother weren't just words... But a curse. But that didn't stop her from loving her child. She kept on loving him and taking care of him like he was a normal baby.
A week later, it was night again, and she was trying to put her baby to sleep. But then she heard loud banging outside her door. She was scared who it was, but before she could do anything, the door slammed open. A furry beast came into her house, and she screamed in fear. She tried to pick something to defend herself and her baby. But the werewolf raised her hand and spoke.
"Please! I mean no harm! I'm sorry for breaking your door! But would you let me in if I even knocked?!" Asked the female werewolf. Benoîte slowly calmed down, but she still held her guard up.
"W-Who are you?! WHAT are you?!" Benoîte yelled at the werewolf.
"My name is Neige. And I am a werewolf. I thought that was easy to tell. But that doesn't matter! I came here because I heard a man I used to be had another child." Neige explained to Benoîte.
"What...?" Benoîte asked confusedly.
Neige sighed deeply and spoke again, "When I was in a human form in a day, I used to like to go to bars to drink all day to drown my worries. And that was when I met him."
Neige took out a picture of the man she managed to get and showed Benoîte the picture. Benoîte gasped when she saw the picture. It was the same man who left her and her baby.
"I guess you know him. You see... I was very drunk. He and I... Let's say "did it" together, and I thought nothing about it. But then, I found out that I was pregnant and I tried to find him but I couldn't. It's like he disappeared. But I didn't want to risk the life of my baby. So... I took care of my child all by myself." Neige said in a very sad tone, and she looked at Benoîte.
"But then... I heard rumors that the same man got married but left a woman with her baby all alone. And I wanted to find out who that woman was. And it was you." Neige explained even more, and she showed her baby to Benoîte. Neige baby was very hairy with pointy ears.
Benoîte looked at the baby and looked at Neige.
"How did you manage to find me? And... Why?" Benoîte asked while still holding her own baby.
"I asked around... and I pretend to be close to you. AND! The reason I wanted to find you is because I want us to help each other. And I want our babies to know that they aren't alone. I know all of this is crazy. But I am willing to help you." Neige said.
Benoîte looked like she was thinking really hard, and soon, she sat on her bed still holding her baby. She made a small smile and looked at Neige.
"What's your baby name?" Benoîte asked with a sweet smile.
Neige slowly made a soft smile and said, "His name is Loup. What's your baby name?"
"His name is Louveteau."
(Sorry if this is too long and cringy. But... You know what they say. Be cringe. Be free.)

If you don't mind me asking, who were your tes ocs?
Ah im being visited by the ghost of Hyperfixations past. I'm giving a warning that the art here is older, some more so then others.
SO I had a few characters.
behold: old pinterest boards [this is not all of them lol]
But my main oc who I've had since i was like 13 is Eliana. She's changed a lot over the years. I was, suffice to say, pretty obsessed with her for quite awhile.
She was my main PC for Skyrim, and she primarily did the Dragonborn stuff alongside Dawnguard and the like [i split up the different plotlines among different characters]. She's a battlemage, uses a combination of fire magic and sword work, and tends to wear more lighter armor for dexeterity based moves. Originally from Hammerfell, she came to Skyrim on a rather personal mission before, yknow, all hells broke loose and oh boy! Suddenly you're expected to save the world and also you're not entierly mortal, have fun with that.
(Also fun fact, while obviouslly not by name in universe, she has type 2 waardenburg syndrome, which is why her eyes are discoloured + has hearing loss)
El's generally a pretty friendly and sweet girl, but she very much tends to get caught up in her own head, and struggles a lot with the balance between power and responbility, and uh, quite a lot of ptsd and stress by the end of it. theres a lot more but uh, we would be here forever lmao.
and uh. i guess ill give a brief overview of the others under the cut. I had vague ideas of a lot of them exisiting in the timeline and their interactions overlapping.
Laymus is an imperial who originally grew up on a farm with a lot of siblings. He struck out on his own in hopes of taking a stronger control of his own life, and because there wasn't really much for him there. Primarily a hunter, Laymus had an unfortunate encounter with a werewolf... which, left a substiantial impact on his being. He specializes in archery and fighting from a distance... at least, most of the time. [yea he's a werewolf lol. i was gonna do the companions quest with him but never got around to it. i usually play as him when im playing with survival mods, its very fun. he was also one of my earliest forays into having a transmasc oc ]
Faelynn is a bosmer, but was actually raised in Cyrodiil by her adoptive father, who ran a tavern there. She is considerbly older then some of my other characters, and long since outliver her human parent. She had a fascination in poisons from a young age, and after an... incident, became far more invested in them. She is the character I play through the dark brotherhood with, specializes in daggers and poison, alongside alchemy.
Erion is an aldermi character of mine, someone who's family has ties to the thalmor, an area of which he does not connect to. He has a rather.... unfortunately complicated history with his family, that was made all the more interesting by an encounter with Nocturnal at a young age...
He focuses on shadowy skills, a master of sneaking and not being seen when he doesn't want to be. He is the one i do the thieves guild questline with.
Adra is a dunmer, and grew up with a particularly strong set of daedra worshippers, which, suffice to say, has some complications with her background. She vaguely remembers her mother, but has little concept of who her father could even have been. She struggles a lot with self esteem and has a tendancy towards jealousy of those she percieves as doing better then her.
She specializes as a mage, primarily in destruction magic, with a knack for electricity and lightning. She is a student at the college of winterhold.
and that covers the main ones! Or, at least the ones i play the game with anyway. Honourable mentions are Valia and Ashanta, who are Eliana's mothers.
These two met during the battles between Hammerfell and the Aldmeri Dominion, of which Ashanta was a warrior on Hammerfell's side, and Valia was a healer of whom defected, their paths crossing. Its quite a tale in and off itself!
Valia died prior to the start of skyrim.......... the aldmeri are particularly kind to defectors, we shall say.
And then i have a few others. Anja is a nord background character concept I made, who runs a bakery in Riverwood [inspired by me learning about the history of bread making and the important of a baker in a town]. She also ends up adopting some of the orphans in the game lol. Allian is my oblivion character who wasnt ever super developed, i should get back to that... he's an imperial, and is actually Laymus' uncle.
I'm pretty sure I have a few more somewhere but uh. yea! thats the base up of it. hope you were prepared for my great overview XD XD
#man. i miss these guys#anyway yea skyrim and the elder scrolls in general was a major fixation of mine for many many years so... i have a lot!#you can kinda tell where i split things up with the characters as a kid when i decided it didnt make sense for El to complete every part of#the game proper lol#these guys still mean a whole lot to me even if i would probably approach some things differently now#asks#tes#oc talk

Once Upon a Time on the Razor Crest
Summary: First steps to friendship
A/N: Hello lovelies,
I hope everyone had a good week. I just want to put this out there as someone who works in the medical field, please be kind to doctors, nurses, technicians, receptions, and cleaning crews.
Just be kind in general. I had a rough week with a very rude patient. It might not seem like much but after a while it takes a toll. So to everyone and anyone who needs to hear this, thank you for all the hard work you do.
Love oo
Due to the past history of the OC there will be discussions alluding to past domestic abuse, please note that as it could be a trigger for some.
Warnings: discussions of lunch, trying to avoid isolation, mentions of past trauma (blink and you'll miss it), discussions of being dirty (physically), possible mud (use your imagination). If I miss any warnings, please let me know.

THE CRESTWORLD
CHAPTER NINE
As we watched Taika and Misty munching away, it made me remember we needed to eat too, “Din, what do you want for lunch? There’s some leftovers from last night’s dinner or I could make us a sandwich and salad …”
“You know…” he cut her off, realizing he needed to make more of an effort with her.
Sure she was his employee, but he was also the only person she knew out here. Cobb and Fennec were always busy in town and the surrounding areas, and Fennec had even less time than Cobb, being Boba’s right hand. Then there was Grogu, and as fun and enjoyable he was for a little kid, it wasn’t the same as having someone around her own age to hang out with.
He nodded to himself, resolving he needed to do better, “You did a really good job today, Ann. Looking after Bessie, milking her, noticing there was something off about her. You could’ve easily brushed it off, or not even bothered to tell me about it. But you did, and because you did, I can tell you there will be a new addition to the ranch. Nerfs have a faster gestation than most quadrupeds. We should have a new addition in a month or two depending on if it’s a bull or calf. Not to mention you fed the nunas and collected the eggs, even though I know it freaks you out a little. I even noticed that you stamped the eggs with the date, and put them away. Cleaned out the pens as best you could … before I got here.” He smirked.
I tilted my head to look at him, resting my head on my arms that were propped on the railing of the corral. I didn’t say much, simply looking at him as I narrowed my eyes at Din, “I can’t tell if you’re making fun of me, or if you’re being genuine”
He chuckled, as he glanced over to her, shaking his head. “Genuine, I’m being genuine,” he turned back to look at Taika and Misty, “plus, I owe you for this morning.”
I smirked, focusing back on the horses, “So … does this mean, I’ll get a pay bump?”
“Ha! No.” He stood stretching, “However, I do believe, your good work today, and for my …”
“Assery?”
“That’s not even a word.”
“Words aren’t words, until you start using them more often”
Din shook his head laughing, “Anyway, I do believe this entitles you to lunch on me. How about we go into town for lunch? I know a good restaurant.”
“Oh, um … yeah, I guess…”
He hadn’t expected that reaction, “Do you not want to?” Din glanced over to her.
A thousand scenarios ran through my mind, my biggest concern was bringing danger to this small town, but … Fennec went through a lot to cover my tracks so I could make it here. I couldn’t keep hiding on the ranch like I was. I needed to stop letting my ex dictate terms. I needed to start living again.
I closed my eyes, and reminded myself, I wasn’t that same weak girl, he initially married.
“No. No.” I focused on the landscape before, taking in the beautiful mountains, the crisp air. I was far away from him. “I’m up for going into town. After all, I need to see more of this area, get to know the town and people. As beautiful as this ranch is, I can’t exactly be holed up here forever.”
“No. You can’t” he smiled.
I smirked, as my eyes glanced down, looking over my dirty outfit, “Maybe I should change? Take a shower at least?” My hand subconsciously went to my forehead and hair, wiping away some of the sweat and dirt.
Din shrugged, “You can if you want to but there’s no need, we’re going to a diner, not some fancy five-star high-end Coruscant restaurant. Plus this is a farming town, we’re all used to being a little dirty.”
“Hmmm … Well, I guess, if you’re going like that” I motioned to his shirt, “then I guess I can go like this” I motioned to my less than stellar outfit.
“What’s wrong with what I’m wearing?” He looked down, sure there was dirt, hay, dust, some grass strains, and something … he hoped but wasn’t entirely sure was mud. The more he thought about it, the more he changed his opinion, “You know, now that you mention it, maybe a change of shirt wouldn’t be the worst thing.”
I chuckled, nodding in agreement, as he tried to flick a nondescript dark matter off his shirt towards me. I squealed, flinching away from him, increasing the distance between us. “Hey …” I held up my finger as I moved further away, “I’ll have you know, I have enough of my own questionable dark matter on me, I don’t need to take on yours, too.” I shouted over to him, when I was far enough away and headed back into the house.
Din watched as she headed back to the house, slipping off her boots before she went in.
He stood in the open glancing over to the pens, the horses grazing, and Bessie chewing away as she stood there looking at him, and he couldn’t remember a time he felt this content from cleaning the pens and grooming Taika and Misty. He shook his head, pushing his thoughts aside as he headed into the house to change.

Daniel X Melody (OC)
Warnings : just fluff! Subtle nods to anxiety. Word count : 2.1k
She’s In Love With The Boy - Trisha Yearwood “She’s in love with the boy, And even if they have to run away, she’s gonna marry that boy someday”
Melody POV
I sit with my face pressed to the window that faces our family driveway, my hot breath fogging up the glass every time I take a breath.
“Be careful tonight, mi amor!” My mom yells from the kitchen, the sounds of pots clanging together following behind her soft voice. “Remember, eleven thirty! No later, Melody.”
“Yes, Mamà.” I replied, continuing to stare out the window for his headlights.
My best friend, Daniel, was on his way to get me for a haunted house. We’ve been close since grade school, but this past year there’s been a shift with us. I’ve always thought that Daniel was cute, I couldn’t have imagined he felt the same way. So tonight was a first for us, a date you could call it. The first outing since we’ve told each other how we feel.
I really like you, Melody. More than anything else in the world, I think. Daniel’s words ran in my head like they were practicing for a marathon. I welcomed every round.
My heart pounded against my chest as I watched his headlights turn into the driveway. Grabbing the sweater my mom is forcing me to take, I shout a quick bye! as I'm running out the door towards Daniel’s truck. Hopping into his passenger seat I can’t help but grin back at his soft, lazy smile.
“Hi, Ducky,” he says as I buckle my seatbelt in. “I hope you’re ready for tonight.”
“So ready!” I responded.
I was not ready. I knew this, Daniel knew this. For our entire friendship I’ve never been one for scary things, I jumped when a piece of fuzz I was unaware of invaded my vision.
So, a haunted house? Not great.
Spending time one on one with Daniel? My favorite thing in the whole world.
I watch as his hand reaches across the console to the radio, putting on one of our favorite songs.
“Are you sure you’re ready, Ducky?” His eyes shot over to me, “you don’t have to lie.”
“Scouts honor,” I reply as I try to put on a brave face. The car fills with the echoes of Daniel’s laughter. Guess I didn't look as brave as I thought.
Daniel takes a couple more turns through our foggy neighborhood until we reach a parking lot filled with other victims for tonight’s festivities. We hop out of our respective sides of the car and I immediately pull my arms around me. The sinister music and screams from the house are wafting in the air.
Before I can think twice I untie the sweater from around my waist, mamà knows best, and ruin my outfit by putting it on. My eyes are wide as I look around while we wait in line. I can’t see much, but I don’t trust that they didn’t put actors in line with us for a little pre show scare. A large, warm hand grabs onto mine and gives it a firm squeeze. A yelp escapes my lips.
“It’s not too late to go and do something else, Melody.” Daniel says while giving my hand a couple more reassuring squeezes. Standing in line our height differences are much more noticeable, I practically have to throw my head back to make eye contact.
“No. We’re here and we said we wanted to do some spooky shit this season, so we’re doing it.”
He locks our fingers together sending shockwaves throughout my body.
“Alright then, Ducky. Let’s do this.”
Past the entrance gates, we enter an open field. The main attraction, The Killer Barber, sits on our right. To the left of us are some small vendors filled with hot chocolate and apple crisp to warm us on this chilly New England night.
“What do you want to do first?” Daniel asks. “Get spooked first, then hot chocolate as a reward for making it through? Apple crisp is happening no matter what.”
I grin at him, “I swear you can read my mind.”
Hand in hand we start walking towards the house.
“I can’t believe we’re in our senior year,” he says. “Wait, we’re still doing matching halloween costumes right?”
I can’t contain my laughter, he’s always been a bit scatterbrained.
“As if anyone else could be the Gomez to my Morticia.” I give his hand a squeeze and watch as a small smile flashes across his lips. “If anything, senior year is about to be our bitch.”
We haven’t struggled with finding other friends at school, but it’s clear we always move as one. Since we were young it’s always been Daniel and Melody. Our parents accepted we were attached at the hip, and I think mamà has always secretly hoped we’d end up together. She’s liked Daniel since the start, but when he started to learn Spanish she was downright sold on him.
When will you bring Daniel around?
Call Daniel for dinner, I’m making his favorite.
Can you just marry Daniel?
Okay, maybe she didn’t ask me the last question- but a girl can dream. The thought of being Mrs. Daniel Wagner had always set off a horde of bees in my stomach. Not butterflies, those seem too tame. Full blown bees.
“Earth to Ducky?” We’re next.” Daniel’s fingers are snapping in front of me, effectively bringing me back to reality.
The Killer Barber. Yaaaaay.
The attendant smiles weakly at us before waving us in.
As soon as we pass the threshold a door slams and a voice shouts “Come for a shave, have ye?”
Daniel laughs, fully enthralled. I, on the other hand, find his arm and grip it tightly with my freehand close to my body.
“I’ve got you, Melody.” He says reassuringly.
“Let’s ju-just get th-through this,” I stutter. I can feel my anxiety peaking. Looking at Daniel I know he knows this too. He moves me so that I'm directly behind him, my tall shield to whatever lies ahead.
My eyes are screwed shut, trusting Daniel won’t walk me into any walls. I don’t know how anyone walks through these, the sounds are enough to send me running.
“I promise, it’ll be the closest shave you’ll ever have.” A voice says a few moments later. I swear I feel the hot breath on my ear which causes me to scream.
“Ducky, you gotta not look so scared, they look for that.” Daniel says.
“What do you mean not look so scared?” I shout. “Next time we’re apple picking and making a goddamned pie. None of this haunted house shit!”
I feel the laugh rumble through him before I hear it, and I can’t help but laugh along too. Before I know it we’re hitting the final room. I peek out from behind him and am amazed at the scene unfolding in front of me. It’s gory, of course, but seeing how someone had changed this into a super scary scene is astounding. A face pops up at me while wielding a straight razor. I can’t help but gasp and tuck myself into Daniel’s laugh.
“A couple more steps.” His voice vibrates his whole chest, I can’t help but snuggle in closer.
Relief floods my veins when I realize he wasn’t lying, I feel the cool night breeze on my ears. I’m still gripping the back of his shirt when I feel him laughing.
“You can let go, Ducky. We’ve made it.” I feel his hands reach back and try to loosen my grip. He spins around to look at me once he’s finally free, a giant grin stretched across his face. Daniel quickly pulls me in, the scent of his fresh laundry and incense he burns in his room surrounds me. I bury my face into his chest, the smell seemingly stronger here. I feel his hand rest on the back of my head, tangling with my curls.
“I knew you could do it.” He says as he rests his head on mine. “You’re a strong girl, y’know.” I swear I feel his lips press to my forehead for a moment before moving back into place. We stay like this for a moment longer in the chaos of everything.
Finally parting, I can’t help the smile on my face even though I just got scared shitless. Pulling on his hand, I started dragging him towards our reward.
“Let’s go, Daniel! Hot chocolate and crisp is calling our name!”
Our laughter echoes behind us as we break off into a sprint towards the concession stands. He intertwines our fingers, and somehow takes over leading us.
“Those long legs are so unfair!” I laugh-shout.
“Grow taller then, Ducky!”
Reaching the concessions stand the smell of chocolate and warm apples fill the air. I can’t help but get excited for our little treat.
“Pick a seat, I’ll grab our treats.”
A quick squeeze back and forth of our hands before we part. Finding an empty picnic table turned out to be quite easy. I take a seat on the opposite side so I can watch Daniel in line. His tall lanky stature is illuminated by the small surrounding lights. His long curly hair almost looked like a halo around his head, so wild and free.
It’s a quick moment before he turns around with his hands full. Long legs taking long strides until they finally reach me. Placing our goodies on the table he takes the seat opposite mine. Placing a small white cup in front of me, I almost tear it out of his hands. I'm so excited for this.
Taking the top off of my cup, I’m delighted to find a mound of whip cream.
“What’d you think, I’d forget how you take your hot chocolate?” He says from across the table. “Oh, I’m sorry. I meant whipped cream with a side of hot chocolate.”
“Now we’re judging my hot chocolate order?” I cross my arms and throw a pout his way.
“Never would I ever,” he says. “It’s cute like you.” Daniel moves quickly and sticks a single finger into my whipped cream and then sets it on my nose.
“Hey! That’s a waste of the goods!”
Daniel says nothing, just stands in his seat, leans over, and quickly licks the whipped cream from my nose.
“Not wasted,” he says with a wink.
My face immediately gets hot. I break into the apple crisp. The gooey cinnamon apple oatmeal mixture steams from the container and makes my stomach rumble. The smell is otherworldly. I quickly hand a spoon to Daniel.
Holding my spoon out I wait for him to do the same.
“Cheers!” We say in unison.
It’s quiet for the next few minutes as we devour our treat. As we finish up Daniel collects our trash and I look at my phone, 11:00 shines back on my screen.
“You ready to go, Ducky?” He comes up from behind me and startles me a little bit.
“Absolutely.”
Our hands clasp and our walk back to the car is quiet. Daniel comes to my side and opens my door for me, and my face runs hot again. I watch as he walks over to his side and climbs into the driver's side.
It takes us a few moments, but once we finally get out onto the road, he settles his hand onto my thigh.
“This okay?” He asks while taking quick glances at me. I rest my hand on top of his, a silent yes. His hand gets tighter on my thigh and the bees in my chest become frantic.
My porch light slowly comes into view and my heart constricts at the fact that this night is coming to an end. Daniel pulls into my driveway and shuts off his lights. He hops out of his side and quickly rounds to mine.
“I had a really good time tonight, Ducky.” He says while helping me out of the truck. “Next time, nothing scary. Just us, I promise.”
Daniel’s hand invades my vision and pushes back my curly hair. Suddenly I can only focus on the scorching heat coming from his palm while it rests on my chin. Looking up at him, I can’t help but lean in. I’ve been dreaming of this moment for years, but now that it’s finally here it feels surreal.
When our lips finally touch I swear I hear fireworks going off. People cheering. A whole ass explosion.
I wrap my arms around his waist as he cradles my head in both of his hands. His soft lips are even more plush than they were in my dreams.
He pulls back too soon, peppering my lips with small kisses before finally ceasing.
“Melody, you are everything. Get inside so you don’t get grounded. I’ll text you when I’m home.” A final kiss is pressed to my lips before we separate. The walk to my front door is hazy. I turn and watch as he pulls out of the driveway, waving before he gets out of view.
“Mi amor, how was your date?” My mamà asks when I enter the door.
“Oh, mamà, it was everything.”

Chapter 3
Part 6
Edwart received an urgent letter from Natty telling him to meet her in the middle of the night. Near some castle, thankfully Nattie did attach directions. So he sneaked out of the Hogwarts grounds and quietly flew his broom.
“I am glad that you received my owl. We need to stay low and remain quiet.”
“Natty. What's going on? Why are we all the way out here?” Edwart said quietly.
“As promised, I did some investigating to find out what Harlow is up to. I followed him to the Hog's Head. I noticed him reading a letter. All I could see was that it was signed by and bore the seal of Victor Rookwood.” She took a long deep breath.
“And one other thing Harlow has mentioned you to his colleagues, they did not mistake you for someone else did they?”
Edwart just got caught in a lie. No choice now but to tell Natty the truth.
“No they didn't, Rookwood and Harlow are after me.”
“Why did you lie to me?” Nattie was visibly displeased. “And what do they want with a Hogwarts student?
Edwart sighed heavily “Because. I haven't known you for a very long time and I..” He stumbled on his words. “I'm sorry. I was told not to tell anyone. And I'm not a very trustful person. Is it necessary I tell you right now?”
Natsai was clearly disappointed. She shook her head as she explained further.
“That letter is the tangible proof that Officer Singer needs. It is why I followed Harlow here and why I wrote to you. I need your help to retrieve it. We can talk about it later if you'd like. But you can trust me.”
“Alright. I'll help you find the letter, Natty.” Edwart agreed.
“I'm glad to hear it.” Natty smiled a bit. “First, we must access the castle keep. I'll check the main gate. But I think we have to find another way in. I do not see any guards, but we should still try to be as quiet as possible. Harlow is here after all.”
While Edwart and Natty were quickly sneaking through the castle. Edwart began to think if he should trust Natty or not. Her mother was a Professor and it could expose his and Fig's plans. She was definitely a good person. He was feeling conflicted.
“That is the main keep.” Natty pointed while looking at Edwart.“My guess is that we'll find Harlow and the letter inside.”
“Wait.” Edwart grabbed Natty by hand. “Someone's coming. Quick! Behind there.”
They've both hidden behind a crate when Edwart heard a familiar cheeping.
“Gah! Restrain the beast!” Harlow screamed angrily while other poachers were hitting the animal with casts to tame it.
“Shit! Highwing!” Edwart whispered anxiously.
“Do you know that Hippogriff?” Natty looked bewildered.
“It’s a long story.” Edwart sighed.
“Very well, new plan.” Edwart looked at Natty surprised. “I get the evidence and you free that Hippogriff. Agreed?”
“Thank you.” Edwart managed to say through slight shock.
“This is our chance. Let's go!”
Both of them ran out of their cover but only Natty made it through the closing gate.
“Blasted!” Edwart swore to himself "I hope Natty will be okay…”

Sebastian raised his head a bit to look at his friend sitting in bed next to him with a wand in his book.
Sebastian was exhausted. The events of Feldcroft with Edwart uncovered so many new things, that he felt mentally drained. He fell into his bed face first as Ominis chuckled and said. “I take it, he told you?”
“Ah. If only you knew half of it.” Sebastian signed heavily as he turned to lay on his back. “Edwart… Told me... About his past.”
“Oh?” Ominis made an intriguing noise. “About his ability I presume. Or something else?”
“Yes, his ancient magic thing. and yes more. He knew we might talk so he gave me consent to pass that story on to you. I think he might compete with you, for the most hostile place to live I've heard of…” Sebastian joked trying to ease himself at the thought of the traumatic backstory of his friend.
“I'm listening?” Ominis said, raising an eyebrow as he put down his book.
Sebastian started telling Ominis everything that happened today in Feldcroft to the point of finding the triptych in the Undercroft. Telling Ominis about the tragic story of their mutual friend.
“I guess. Do you think he said everything there is?” Sebastian asked
“Merlin's beard…” Ominis said under his breath with a concerned face. “I’m simply out of words… I can't imagine Edwart become violent like that. But his distrust to the world makes more sense now.”
“I don't. He always finds a way to surprise us.” Ominis chuckled.
“True. He volunteered to help me with finding a cure for Anne. You know what that means Ominis. With his ability and you being Salazar Slytherin's descendant, we could really find a cure. Don't make me beg.” Sebastian pleaded.
Ominis just shook his head. “Already told you, Sebastian. No. Whatever cursed Anne was connected to Dark Arts. I will not meddle in it again. I will help you with anything else but not with finding the scriptorium.”
“But there's a chance-” Sebastian tried again but Ominis interrupted him.
“I said no Sebastian.” And he went back to his book, ending the conversation as Sebastian brooded and muttered under his breath like a child…
It took Edwart quite a while to find Highwing. But she wasn't alone. There was another Hippogriff next to her. Chained to the ground. Edwart fought through his slight fear towards such a big animal so he threaded carefully.

“Highwing. It's all right. there we go.” He cooed as he ruffled her feathers. “We’re calm. I am calm. We have to go okay? I’ll help you.”
As if she understood him she chirped happily at Edwart and let him climb her.
“There you are!” Natty finally appeared.
Natty used an Alohamora to free both Hippogriffs. Just then Harlow and the Poachers showed up. That's when Highwing decided it was time to fly.
“We have to go!” Edwart spoke, shaking slightly.
She grabbed Natty by her arms and dropped her perfectly onto the other Hippogriff. That's when Edwart and Natty heard “Avada Kedavra” which set chills down their spines as a green long spell flew to their side. Thankfully it didn’t hit either of them. Natty seemed to have the time of her life. That's when Edwart first saw that famous Gryffindor Bravery.
As they were lowering to land, a sun was starting to peek out through the nearby mountains announcing the start of another day. Edwart was grateful it was a Saturday morning.
“How exciting!” Natty laughed.
“I'm glad you had such a good time.” Edwart said, shaking with “I wasn't sure we were going to make it out alive.”
“There was no need to worry. I had it all under control.” Natty said, still giggling.
Edwart shot her an unconvinced face, he signed as Natty continued more seriously now. “I will say I did not expect to see him cast the Killing Curse at us. He won't forget this. Be on your guard.”
“Of course. What did the letter say?”
“First can you finally tell me the story of why are Harlow and Rookwood after you? Don’t think I’ve forgotten.”
“Blasted.” Edwart thought. “I don't feel safe telling her everything.” He decided to play it differently.
“Fine, they're after me because of something I found in Gringotts with Professor Fig.”
“When were you in Gringotts?” Natty asked, clearly surprised.
“Just before the sorting ceremony. I found something they want that is very valuable and could give Rookwood and Harlow great power. That's why me and Professor Fig are working together. To try and destroy it.” Edwart lied. He hated doing that. But he had no choice. He didn't trust Natsai yet. He wanted to tell her. But thinking about how long it took him to trust and finally tell Sebastian and Ominis even though Professor Fig told him to keep quiet. It wouldn't be fair. To either of them.
“Hm… I understand.” Natty replied thoughtfully. “The letter said that Rookwood's looking for a phoenix. Not sure where he will find one.” Natty chuckled “It also included Harlow's orders to inspect that castle for the poachers. Thank you for your help. This should be enough to connect Harlow to the crimes. I shall deliver the letter to Officer Singer. She'll have to do something when she sees it.”
“I’m glad to have helped you.” Edwart smiled shyly.
“Now,” Natty said with a bright smile. “Tell me, where did you meet these Hippogriffs?”
Edwart chuckled. “I’ve met Highwing before. Poppy introduced us.”
“Poppy Sweeting knows a Hippogriff?” Natty laughed, “Of course she does. She will be relieved to know that Highwing's safe. Looks like I came to the right person for help.”
“Oh. I am always at your service. Whenever you need me to help you, Rob some poachers.” Edwart joked light-heartedly.
“My mother will be worried. I must go. Seek me out soon. I shall have much to tell you.” Natty chuckled and with that, she flew away on her brown hippogriff.
Edwart was loving this. He could run into danger. But he was so glad Natty wasn't aware of his special ability. This made him feel a little bit more like a regular student… but then he remembered he was sitting on Highwing…

Thank you so much for reading Part 6. Two more to go! As some of you have probably understood, this takes place the same day Feldcroft trip does. Ah Natty! such a well written female gryffindor. And a comeback of Highwing! (actually found a perfect giff for it!) Edwart finally befriended Higwing. People who read everything are aware of how afraid he was at first. She's slowly growing on Edwart. I still haven't done her side mission with that Archie kid, but I will in Chapter 4. Sorry for her fans:)

Chapter 5: Consider My Cares I'd Love to See Me From Your Point of View (HP) Tom Riddle x OC

Upon finding Lestrange and Nott in the common room once Tom had gotten back from the library, Tom decided to grasp this opportunity to confront his circle regarding a topic that Thea had introduced him to via the gift set of book recommendations. He briefly left for his dormitory to grab the appropriate set of notes and rejoined the pair of seventh-years afterwards, taking his place on the armchair perpendicular to the fireplace and the couch where Nott and Lestrange sat. They chatted leisurely of classes – Tom always eager for any advice from his seniors – as they awaited the others to be released from potions. Soon enough, Avery had joined the long couch facing the hearth while Rosier and Mulciber had settled themselves on the cabriole sofa opposite to Tom.
“What’s the occasion? Why’re we gathered like this?”
Tom grimaced inconspicuously at Avery’s query, knowing that if he didn’t approach the matter at hand carefully, everything could go south rather quickly. Almost half a decade of friendship backing them up – they hadn’t gotten along in first year and only became amicable to one another the following year – the boys could pick up on the slight furrow of his eyebrows and the small frown Tom was now sporting. A tinge of anxiety and dread ran through them at the unpromising sight.
Hesitance would only get them nowhere, however, and so, Tom started with an unwavering voice, “say, what do you know about inbreeding?”
Eyes found each other in confusion and Lestrange responded quizzically, “well- it’s common within our blood? It’s been practised among us for generations now to maintain the purity of our magical blood. Other than that? Nothing else, really.”
Tom found himself a subject of many nods of agreement and sighed in resignation. He hoped they were all in just as an agreeable mood and that he wouldn’t have to fight tooth and nail to reverse their indoctrinated minds.
“As I’ve corresponded over the summer break, the nature of Theana Grace’s gift consisted of a selection of book recommendations that she thought would be… helpful. One of the muggle books from the list includes the title: ‘History and the Madness Within: Consequences of Inbreeding’. As you can guess by now, there is something about this that I wish to talk about.” Only a few apprehensive looks so far; that, Tom could deal with. However, never someone who would beat around a bush, his next sentence triggered a slew of outraged expletives from the boys. “The main takeaway of this book is that it might be time for you to introduce new blood to your families.”
“What the fuck?!”
“What in the bloody hell are you insinuating?!”
“New blood!”
Tom held his gaze steady and simply waited for the heated accusations to die down at his silence. He met their hardened eyes strongly and kept his volume at a calm level. “Chapter 3: Dead Lines. As you’ve said, inbreeding has been your tradition that began many generations back. Revolutionary science on genetics started with Darwin only less than a century ago and since then, investigations have been conducted to understand the effects of inbreeding. We’ve seen a rise in the number of pureblood lines dying out over the past few generations. Evidence has pointed out inbreeding as the root of the cause. Furthermore, children born from inbreeding are susceptible to defective genes. Take the Blacks, for example. The Black Madness is no magical phenomenon; it is nothing more than the consequences of intense generational inbreeding. Or- look at Slytherin; an ancient and noble line reduced to broken minds and dishonour that their lordship titles have not accepted them for generations now. The only reason why I’ve come out alright in comparison leads back to the idea of new blood.”
At the mention of familiar family names, the boys take in Tom’s words tentatively. They were all no stranger to how the Black Madness had affected the minds of the great. What everyone had thought to be a magical curse, only to find out that it was the fruit of their actions? They’d be distraught. They were all no different – who was to say that they were not the next to be ‘cursed’?
“It isn’t too late to re-establish your lines as a powerful ones that aren’t fated for doom. The introduction of new blood into the gene pool allows for new, healthy genes to be picked. If not new blood, then at least distant ones. Those from far away lands whose blood are so ancient that no one would question its purity; or relatives’ relatives so distant that you’ll have to trace millenniums down their line to search for a common ancestor. If heirs are as important as you have always claimed them to be, this is something to seriously consider. Continue as you have been, and there’ll be no guarantee that you’ll have heirs by the time you turn ninety.”
At the sharp blow of confident words, the boys cursed under their breath with widened eyes. To not provide their family with children? Oh, they couldn’t even begin to imagine the disgrace they’d be to everyone. And to think that it would be all their own fault too! They couldn’t let that happen – not if they wanted to preserve their family lines down the ages with pride and wealth.
All at a loss for words, it was a wonder that Rosier managed to swallow the lodge in his throat to respond on behalf of everyone. “That’s… we’re grateful for your concern. It’ll definitely be something we’ll need time to wrap our head around.”
“Of course. Here are some notes I’ve jotted down from the book if you find yourself sceptical of the evidence.” Tom handed his notebook to Lestrange, who sat the closest to him, and received a nod of appreciation in return.
“You know, having learned all this, it really does suggest that Grace is on our side.”
Mulciber’s words turned in everyone heads and the others found themselves nodding along. Rosier then voiced his thoughts aloud, “surely she is? I can’t – for the bloody life of me – think of a reason why she would be concerned about our lines dying out other than to indicate that she wishes to establish her stance to be on our side.”
“But what would she gain from all this?”
“Maybe she’s just as respectful of Magic as you are, Tom?”
A lightbulb lit over Avery’s head as he was reminded of their class earlier. “Speaking of- you’ve talked to her in potions, haven’t you? How is she?”
A simple question loaded with an abundance of curiosity – of which, remained hanging in the air for a moment when Tom clenched his jaw and averted his eyes to the flickering flames off to his side. To the utter astonishment of the boys, Tom had found himself at a loss of words.
Anticipation laid thick in the air before Tom parted his lips, his voice carrying emotions he was foreign, yet familiar, with. “She is… remarkable.” When he turned back to feign an undisturbed composure, no one made any mention of the desirous darkness in his eyes that gleamed in the glow of the fire. “It would be to our best interest that she turns out to be a friend. Besides her impressive capability in potions, she has a massive aptitude in wandless and non-verbal magic that she has achieved by coming up with an unorthodox spellcasting convention.”
“Oh?” Now, that was one way to catch their attention. Coming from Tom, genuine expression of interest in a person was a rarity – if ever. “Unorthodox, how?”
Tom let slip an amused twitch upwards of one corner of his lips as he anticipated the dumbstruck expression the boys would have upon learning of Thea’s ingenuity. If Tom had learned to distinguish science and magic as two separate disciplines, he could only imagine that the purebloods had that idea ingrained in their heads ever since they took their first breath. “If you’ve yet to feel your mind combust because of Thea, I suspect you’ll experience it quite soon…”
True to Tom’s expectations, jaws were dropped as he proceeded to do Thea justice by repeating her comprehensive approach to efficient charms-work. Stupefied expressions littered the couches as they tried to understand Thea’s theoretical concept of mixing science and magic together which, judging by Tom’s description of his time with Thea, had proven to be a successful practical feat. With the proud way Tom had relayed Thea’s talents and taking note of the unspoken hunger for the girl that dripped from his words, it came to none of the snakes’ surprise when Tom departed from his housemates and beelined for the empty seat beside Thea during their shared transfiguration class with the badgers that evening.
Having thought that she would remain unwanted as a seatmate as usual, Thea jolted when a tall presence suddenly loomed right beside her and looked up from her transfiguration textbook to regard the shadow who had spoken. “Is this seat taken?”
A hand on her sternum in surprise, a relieved expression crossed her upon learning the identity of the man. Breathless, still, from the unexpected companion, Thea managed to stammer out a “not at all”. A small smile playing on his lips, Tom apologised for startling her as he took his seat next to her. “Oh, no- don’t worry about that! Just wasn’t expecting anyone ‘s all. Would’ve sat in the front row if I knew you’d be here.”
“The front row?”
“That’s where you usually seat, no? I assume there’s a reason why you don’t pick out the back seats.”
“You’re not incorrect…” Tom cocked his head to the side as he tried – and failed – to decipher Thea, certainly not for the last time. To prioritise his preference over something as trivial as seating arrangements – and above her own favour, at that – it was odd. That wasn’t something one would choose to do for someone they’d only recently met and the casual way she had suggested it only tickled at his heart a tad. If the sweet smile she had paired the words with became something he wished to see more of – well, that’s only to his own knowledge and no one else’s.
“Oh, and also-” Thea ruffled through her bag and fished out a notebook, flipping it open and retrieving a flattened paper crane, only slightly larger than the usual ones, from between the pages inked with neat handwriting. “I took the liberty and – as you can probably vaguely guess at this point – duplicated my bibliography that has helped me with wandless and non-verbal spellcasting. It’s got both physics and magical sources that Hogwarts provides so you can go ham- I mean-” To Tom’s absolute mirth – and confusion at the strange idiom – he was witness, once again, to Thea’s flustered state. A hand up to instinctively cover his view of her embarrassed smile and the flush of pink in her cheeks, she cleared her throat swiftly to avoid choking on her words, her eyes avoiding contact with his stare. “-enjoy, is what I meant; so you can enjoy those texts to your greatest contentment.”
He took the folded paper from her offered hand and similarly slipped it into his notebook for temporary safekeeping. Frankly baffled at her unprovoked thoughtful gesture, he followed up his words of gratitude with those of curiosity. As if he had just questioned a matter of common sense, Thea merely tilted her head in consideration with that same Merlin-damned-Tom-was-done-for honeyed smile on her face. It was certainly inevitable, as Tom would think later in his life, that he found himself endeared by this girl when the words that proceeded to leave her lips single-handedly changed the trajectory of his fate.
“‘Cause I like you, of course. You’re a good friend, Tom, and I find myself fond of you.”
In the privacy of the night later, the darkness of the dorm room only lit gently by the refracted moonlight and starlight fighting against the dim Black Lake to make it through the reinforced glass, Thea’s words rang clearly in Tom’s head in a constant loop. Jumbled thoughts and a mess of emotions were let loose inside the containment of his mind, a thick haze of uncertainty dulling his senses as he floated between a state of consciousness and slumber. In the midst of all the chaos, desire reigned supreme and brought about a resolution that he repeated to himself the next morning when his eyes subconsciously sought after the girl that was too good to be true.
He would have her – just as she, him – and no fate would get even a sliver of chance to decide otherwise for him.

OC posting? On main?
I was gonna say "more likely than you think" as if that hasn't been 50% of my deal lately. Anyway, came across a cute picrew and wanted to show off some of the original characters from Driving Through Tunnels (With No Light at the End) now that we've been introduced to most of the auto shop team!
Ricky (top left)
Jenny (top right)
Roger (bottom left)
Dean (bottom right)
(listen I tried my best to deliver "late 90s" but there's only so many choices when it comes picrew)
Some character rambles under the cut!
Ricky Kronbach - the man, the myth, the legend. Hardly needs an introduction since he's our main guy. Ran into some trouble, stole a conspicuous purple car because of it, and because he could neither afford a new car or a paint job, he tried to proposition Roger in exchange for said paint job. Instead, Ricky got a crash course on how to fix cars, a decent job, and a somewhat stable life in his home state of Minnesota. As of 1998, he's the newest mechanic to join the team. He's a bit of a prodigy when it comes to technology, having gone to university (and then expelled for unsavory reasons) for computer engineering. How that managed to translate to an uncanny ability to fix anything remotely mechanical that he touches is beyond anyone's guess. Ricky's a bit of a sour apple, but no one can really blame him. He plays things close to the vest, and someone must be at least a LVL 50 friend in order to unlock his tragic past.
Jenny - the token girl mechanic at the auto shop, but none of the guys look down at her for it. She can and she will bench press an SUV with her scrawny little arms, and she will also crash people's place whenever they're feeling down with pizza and a six pack. A single child, she's lived a pretty sheltered life. Her parents wanted her to be either a lawyer or a doctor, but ever since she was 5 she would collect Hot Wheels alongside her impressive number of "career" Barbies. She signed up for one class during high school and it was over: there was nothing she wanted more than to work on cars. Jenny's a little put off by Ricky at first since the guy kind of materialized out of nowhere one day, but she soon realized how committed he was to learning the ropes. During his first year at the shop she tended to keep her distance, fraternizing only during Bowling Thursdays, but when weird stuff starts to happen and Ricky begins to grow agitated, she self-appoints herself as Ricky's BFF. Surprisingly, they click extremely well.
Roger - being a man of morals, he saw a desperate kid on the run fighting to survive and he gave him a wrench, the couch in the shop office, and a bite to eat. Jersey accent? Thick. Eyebrows? Thicker. A bit of a hardass at work, but a caring family man when it's time to close up his shop for the day. He's 5'2" and will not hesitate to throw down with someone a foot taller than him if they act stupid. Hardly ever smokes, but will pull out a cigarette when shit gets a little dicey. He's a pretty lenient boss when his mechanics are going through it, and he tends to keep it professional while on the lot, unwilling to overstep. But being older means he's world-weary, and seeing a face he remembers from the news haunting Ricky, a young man no older than his oldest son, he will try to keep tabs on him and make sure he's okay.
Dean - senior mechanic nearly a decade older than Ricky and loves to rub it in his face. So far the most tech-savviest of them all, and also the nerdiest. He's scatterbrained and a gossip, his improv game is off the charts (which makes him a hit at D&D tables), and will try to get beetles to unionize given the chance. His fashion sense is only rivaled by Jenny's, which usually leads to Roger griping at him that, yes, he has to wear his overalls when hitting the bays. Yes, Roger is well aware that he's not the one buying Dean's clothes but for the love of God, kid, think of how much you can save by not getting motor oil all over those fancy threads. Though he might hold his age over Ricky (and Ricky thinks that might just be because Dean sucks at bowling), and is a firm believer in having co-workers be co-workers and nothing more, Dean has and will extend an olive branch in the case where he is needed. In fact, he's lost at least one mobile phone because he lent it to Ricky prior to a mysterious excursion, but he's never asked questions. Dean's been around the block enough times to know when not to ask questions, and he knows when people need to stick together.

The Not Entirely Human-Human Exchange Student pt.6
Summary: Nobody knows how they'll act in an impossible situation, not even Cass. As she learns more about the brother's history, one thing becomes clear: the image Lucifer's presenting is nothing like the one being revealed. Warnings: Swearing, mentions of death and violence Spoilers: Through Lesson 6 and Lilith's status Characters: Cass (OC), Lucifer, Mammon, Levi, Satan, Asmo, Beel, Lilith, and Simeon. Notes: I just want to thank everyone for their reblogs, replies, and tags! This isn't my main blog, so I can't reply from this account but it brings me so much joy seeing and rereading them. Previous Part • Next Part
She held the door slightly open, blocking Luke from Beel’s eyeline as he approached her. “Hey, you know how we’ve been having a super good time bunking together?”
“Not really?” Beel asked, tilting his head to the side. “Have we been having a super good time?”
“Answer faster next time, damn,” Cass muttered. “I have an idea to make it twice as fun.”
Beel’s face lit up. “Cheeseburgers?”
“Yeah, I guess we could get some cheeseburgers?” Beel smiled, eyes glazing over as he started thinking about food. He walked forward blindly entering his room. “Wait, Beel!”
Beel nearly ran Luke over in his hungry state. Luke screeched, darting out of the way at the last second. The sound was enough to knock some sense into Beel. His eyebrows knitted together as he tried to figure out why Luke was in his room.
“Wahoo!” Cass fake cheered, but it did little to dispel the tension. “Twice as fun sleepover!”
The first thing Cass felt when she woke up that morning was safe. In his sleep, Beel had put his arm around her, pulling her closer. At 7’2, he easily dwarfed her. Being surrounded by so many people taller than her, she didn’t think about it very often anymore. With just of the two of them, it was hard to ignore.
She slipped out of his embrace, not wanting to wake him. Part of her morning routine, when she was able to get enough sleep, was to spend time in the library reviewing course material. More times than not, Satan was already in there.
The first few days, he’d ignored her completely. Gradually, he started engaging more and would even bring his own materials to study. Despite her expectations, he was always happy to help answer her questions. Perhaps he was excited to share his knowledge just as Levi was when sharing his interests.
With his help, Cass had been advancing through the material at an incredible rate. She was almost able to keep up in classes with the others and even maintained an average grade comparable to Levi’s. After finding out Diavolo had requested she be graded more leniently, she demanded they hold her to the same standards. Even when he relented and expected a drop in her grades, her average continued to climb.
She stepped out of the library to stretch her legs. Hushed voices floated through the hall. Despite Lucifer’s warning, Cass wasn’t going to stop investigating the mysteries surrounding the brothers. She followed the voices, staying hidden when she was able to make out what they were saying.
“I haven’t heard from him, I’m worried.”
“The life of an exchange student is busy.”
“Why can’t he come home? I’ll go in his place. He doesn’t even want to be there.”
“I’m not having this conversation again. This exchange program is the first step of Diavolo’s goal for the three realms. I won’t let anyone stand in the way of that goal. Do you understand?”
His question was met with silence. The implication weighed heavy in the air. Lucifer would make sure that anyone who opposed Diavolo wouldn’t survive. Something about that didn’t sit right with Cass. Would he really take that stance if it meant taking it against his brothers?
“Answer me this, who would choose to side with, Belphegor or me?”
Another question met with silence. Before Cass could think about it for too long, she felt a hand cover her mouth. Whoever had snuck up, pulled her away gently. Once they were in another room and the door was closed, Mammon let her go.
“Didn’t want to get caught eavesdropping.” Mammon shrugged. “I’m not surprised that Beel couldn’t manage to answer Lucifer.”
“What happened? Why is he so confident in Diavolo’s decision?”
“I don’t entirely know. After we fell from grace, he changed. None of us know what happened, but he pledged loyalty to Lord Diavolo. Ever since, he puts Diavolo’s desires first, no matter what. Even if he doesn’t agree with it.”
For pride itself to give up that much, Diavolo must have done something that would have been met with dissent it would have made it impossible for the brothers to be in the position they were now. Lucifer must have pledged loyalty as a deal. But the only thing Lucifer would do that for, was his family. Yet, making that deal could lead to him turning his back on them.
“Belphie wasn’t a fan of the program from the beginning. He would have fought Diavolo every step of the way. Lucifer selected him as one of the exchange students without listening to anyone else. I tried to get him to reconsider or at least talk about it with Belphie. In the end, it didn’t matter.”
As much as she wanted to ask him more, she knew there were likely only two people who could answer the questions she had. She doubted that Diavolo or Lucifer would be willing to do that though. Everything she learned here was like finding a new way out of the maze only to hit another dead end.
“Why did you fall?”
“We-”
“Why did you fall?” Cass interrupted.
He looked startled, as if he’d never been asked that. “Because Lucifer did. I planned on following him no matter what his decision was.” He paused, as if remembering that time. “I still would.”
---
“Lilith, I know you’re here!” Cass stormed into the construction zone that was her former room.
After talking with Mammon, she decided to confront Lilith. She needed to know what the hell happened that led to the brother’s falling. She’d convinced Lucifer she wasn’t feeling well and needed to stay home. Since he had a council meeting, Levi had gone to classes, and she had the house to herself.
“Coming in hot,” Lilith laughed as she appeared, sitting on a pile of debris.
“What lead to the Celestial war?”
Lilith froze, surprised by the question. Cass tossed the book about the Celestial War she’d found in the library on the ground at her feet. All she could find was that the brothers rebelled and when they lost, they were banished. After falling, Diavolo accepted them as denizens of the Devildom.
“You’re at the heart of it aren’t you?” Lilith started to speak, but Cass continued. “I don’t want to hear that you can’t tell me. I know something you did started this.”
“I didn’t know what would happen.” Her voice wavered as her head dropped, unable to look Cass in the eyes. “I never asked them to take my side. I, I just want them to be happy.”
Even as Lilith recounted the events that led to the war, Cass felt more confused than ever. The six brothers had been willing to give up everything they knew, everything they were for each other and Lilith. So, why was Belphie currently locked in a closet while they all harbored secrets.
“I don’t know what happened between Lucifer and Diavolo. I don’t remember anything after I was hit until I woke up in the human world.”
“Knowing what happened, would you do it again? Give the person you loved the fig from the Celestial Realm?”
Lilith looked up, more tears threatening to fall. She didn’t have to give Cass an answer, she already knew. “Am I a bad person?”
“No.”
“I’m the reason they’re here. I’m the reason Belphie is stuck up there and why -”
“No, you’re not. You may have opened the door, but they walked through it, and your dad or God or whatever you call him, locked it behind them. There are consequences to every decision. If you choose to focus on the bad, you stop seeing the good. I’m assuming there were some pretty good things that came from your choice, or you wouldn’t make it again.”
Lilith’s expression softened and she gave Cass a slight smile. She remembered what Mammon had said right before she made a pact with Levi. I’m so sick of people I care about blaming themselves when it’s not their fault.
“Cass?” Cass turned to Lilith, not realizing she had zoned out. “I think you should be careful around Belphie. I can’t really explain it, but he seems different down here. Not in the same way as the rest of them.”
“What do you mean?”
“When he was an angel, Belphie loved humans. He’s the reason I started sneaking down to the Human Realm.”
“But Beel and Mammon said he was against the exchange program. Why would he be against the idea if he-”
Cass’s question was cut off by a door slamming and someone yelling her name. By the time she looked back at the pile Lilith had been perched on, the ghost was gone. Thankfully, she’d taken the book Cass had brought with her when she vanished.
Cass rushed from the room, not sure how she’d explain why she was hanging out in the rubble when she was supposed to be ill. She collided with Levi as she rounded the corner to the entry way. Were it not for the quick reflexes that demons seemed to have, she would have fallen.
“Woah, are you okay?”
“Sorry, yeah, you scared me.” Levi let go once she found her footing. “What are you doing home?”
“Lucifer made me come back to check that you were feeling alright.”
Despite the annoyed tone, Levi looked surprisingly peaceful. It was obvious Lucifer hadn’t asked Levi to check on Cass because he was actually worried about how she felt. Lucifer had asked Levi because he knew he’d need a break from everyone at RAD by this point in the day. Yet another piece that didn’t fit into the picture Lucifer presented.
“I’m doing a lot better, thanks,” she lied. “When do you have to get back to class? Want to play a few rounds of Devil Kart before you go back?”
“I have time.” Levi lit up at the question. He grabbed her arm, pulling her along as he rushed to his room. She glanced back at the empty door hoping Lilith wouldn't shut back down and keep hiding secrets.
---
<< My Son: I need your help!!
<< My Son: Can you come outside?
<< My Son: I’m already at the House of Lamentation.
Cass barely had time to breathe after Levi left before she started receiving texts from Luke. Was there any being in all three realms that didn’t need her help? As soon as she opened the front doors, Luke ran in under her outstretched arm. He looked equal parts angry and unsettled as he frantically searched the room.
“Are you okay?”
“You have to let me stay here with you!” He grasped her arm with a surprising amount of strength.
“Woah, okay, did something happen?”
“I can’t go back to Purgatory Hall right now. Please let me stay in your room.”
“Luke, you know I would let you stay with me in a heartbeat, but I don’t exactly have a room right now.”
He gave her a skeptical look, so she showed him to the wreckage of Beel’s outburst. He examined the room, muttering complaints about demons under his breath. Cass leaned against the door frame, letting him process everything however he needed to.
“I can ask Lucifer if it’s okay if you sleep on the couch.” Luke let out a noise of disgust as he turned to her, appalled at the suggestion. “Or I can ask Beel if you can stay in his room too. That’s my current living situation.”
“They’re making you stay in a room with a demon? This whole exchange program is ridiculous. How can they bring a defenseless human here and make them live with demons? Obviously, you’re getting taken advantage of, I mean, two pacts?!”
“Well, I do have some agency,” Cass interjected.
Luke didn’t seem to notice though. He continued ranting about the program and how much he hated demons. Without being too obvious, Cass started leading him towards Beel’s room. If he didn’t want people to know he was here, standing in the middle of the hall wouldn’t be the best plan.
The second her hand grabbed the doorknob, the front door slammed open. Luke yelped before pushing her into Beel’s room. Even on the second floor, she could hear when each of the brothers entered the house.
Beel was so hungry, the sound of his stomach growling activated Cass’s flight or fight response. As he usually was after a council meeting, Satan was aggravated. Cass had learned to tell how angry he was based on the strength of his steps. The quickened thumps were barely covered by Levi and Mammon’s arguing.
The two always fought more when Levi wasn’t able to have enough time to recharge away from people. More often than not, their arguments were about Mammon owing Levi money. Though, Cass couldn’t quite figure out why he still lent Mammon money all the time.
If Levi and Mammon weren’t fighting, odds were that Asmo and Mammon were at each other’s throats. There was something pure about the way they fought with Mammon. Something very human about it, unlike how Satan would fight with Lucifer at times.
Asmo’s voice faintly drifted from the entry as he mumbled to himself about needing to redo his nails. Once it was clear the brothers had gone their separate ways, the front door shut with a thud and a soft sigh that could only be Lucifer.
---
“It’s horrible. He never listens to me. I tried to warn him about always having tea with Lord Diavolo and he still goes over there. Worse yet, he said I should ask Barbatos to help with my baking. As if I would ever do that. The idea of even speaking to a demon face to face is repulsive.”
Cass glanced at Beel at the comment. Not that he usually let things get to him, but he did look somewhat dejected at the word. “Luke.” Luke’s head jerked in her direction, as if he’d forgotten they were in the room. “You’re being cruel. I respect that you’re allowed to have your own opinions and beliefs, but I don’t have to respect what those are or let you say them.”
“I -” he opened and closed his mouth a few times before letting his head fall.
“I’m not saying that to make you feel bad, but I just want you to think about it for a second. How would you feel if someone said those things about angels while you were standing right in front of them.”
Luke glanced at Beel nervously but didn’t speak. knelt on the ground to address him at eye level. “I know you may not like Simeon befriending demons, but that’s his choice to make. You have to let him make it, just like he lets you choose how your relationship with demons is. He only suggested you talk to Barbatos. He didn’t force you to or try to guilt you into meeting with him.”
Luke stayed silent for a moment longer, taking in Cass’s words. “You’re right. I’m sorry, Beelzebub.”
“Oh, um, that’s alright. If you still want to, you can stay in my room with Cass.” Beel pulled something from the side table next to him and handed it to look. Luke gave it a caution look, glancing at Beel and then Cass. “It’s not weird or anything, it’s just Hibiscus Pomegranate juice. Sweets calm me down when I’m upset sometimes.”
“Why are you being so nice to me?”
Beel’s face grew somber as he answered Luke with a sincerity that made Cass nervous. “You once gave me cake.”
Cass blinked. Did he just say Luke gave him cake? She knew he was always pretty serious when it came to food, but this seemed over the top. He had said it like Luke asked him to swear on his life. Luke’s shocked expression matched her own.
“What?”
“You gave me a cake once and this is how I can say thank you.”
“You’re right Luke, I don’t think staying in a room with a demon as devious and ghastly as Beel is safe.” Luke scrunched up his face, trying not to say something rude again. “Wait, why can’t you stay at Purgatory Hall anyways? It’s not like Simeon would kick you out for not visiting the castle with him?”
“Because he doesn’t care at all! I could disappear and he wouldn’t bat an eye.”
“Oh, I get it. You’re jealous, aren’t you?” Beel asked, head tiling to the side as he assessed Luke.
“What, I, OF COURSE NOT,” Luke snapped, his face burning red with embarrassment. “I’m worried about him being corrupted. What would Michael think? When he refused to listen, I told him our friendship was over and strode right out of the dorm. I can’t just go crawling back.”
After Luke calmed down enough, he thanked Beel for letting him stay. Beel and Cass had to remind him several times to keep it down as Beel hadn’t checked with Lucifer that it was okay. Were it her room, Cass wouldn’t have cared if Lucifer knew or not, but Beel was adamant they had to keep it between them.
Keeping him hidden that night wasn’t difficult, especially because Lilith was able to give her a heads up if Lucifer was leaving his study. Bringing him dinner wasn’t too much harder. The challenge for that was making sure Beel didn’t eat everything on the walk from the kitchen or before Luke had anything.
The next morning, Luke still wasn’t ready to be around anyone, so Cass let him know she’d cover for him and promised to come back as soon as possible when classes let out. Fortunately, she was able to leave early as Diavolo had cancelled a meeting for the exchange students due to Luke’s absence.
After reminding Luke that he couldn’t just wander the halls, regardless of if the brothers were at class or not, she gave him some snacks she’d bought on the way back. Despite his grumbling about being bored, he didn’t seem to mind staying and watching a movie with Cass.
It was late when Beel returned. He barged into the room right as Luke finally fell asleep. He’d been nodding off for the last twenty minutes, head falling and snapping back up as he forced himself to stay awake. Lucky for them, he was drowsy enough that he didn’t audibly react to Beel’s entrance.
“You have to hide. Lucifer’s doing a surprise inspection.”
“A what?” Luke and Cass asked at the same time.
“You know, when Lucifer checks our rooms?” Beel looked at Cass, equally confused by her reaction.
“No, I don’t know what you’re talking about. Aren’t you like thousands of years old? Why do you have room checks?”
“We didn’t used to but then everyone kept causing trouble, so now Lucifer does random checks.” Luke, who had been searching for a hiding spot started crawling under the bed. “No, that’s too obvious. Once he found a witch disguised as a spider in Asmo’s room.”
“Well, where’s not obvious?”
Before Beel had time to answer, there were two knocks on the door. He opened the closet door and shoved Luke inside. The door latched the same moment Lucifer entered. Cass took a sip of her tea, trying to act natural.
“Evening, Lucifer, to what do we owe the pleasure?”
“I’m just here to do a room check.”
“Seems like a bit of an invasion of privacy, but it’s your home.”
Lucifer’s gaze didn’t waver, not that it mattered. Cass had become accustomed to the icy stare and was hardly phased by it. She turned her attention to the movie that was still playing, hoping to convince him that things were normal, but she never knew. She still couldn’t read him.
“Care to share why everyone seems to believe you’re hiding a dog in your room, Beel?” Beel shook his head, not trusting himself to speak. “Cass?”
Cass pretended to think about it, eyes not leaving the screen. “I mean, it could be so many reasons. First thing that comes to mind, they’re jealous of my funky fresh dance moves.” Even without seeing his face, she could tell he was getting angrier.
“Open your closet door, Beel.”
“It’s just dirty laundry, it probably –”
“It wasn’t a request.”
Beel nodded, opening the door. She was certain he wasn’t doing it on purpose, but it really felt like he was opening the door as slowly as possible, as if to create more tension, something the room definitely did not need. Lucifer inspected the shockingly Luke-less closet before narrowing his eyes.
“Told you,” Cass released the breath she’d holding. “But I don’t blame you. It’s hard to believe how good I am until you see it for yourself.”
Lucifer rolled his eyes before leaving without a word. Beel and Cass stared at each other in shock before approaching the closet. Beel moved some things around, but it was clear that Luke was no longer in there.
“What the fuck?” Cass slipped into the closet check for a secret door or something that could explain his disappearance.
“I don’t know. Wait, let me try something.” Cass turned around in time to see the door shut. She stood in the dark closet in disbelief. “Cass? Are you still there?” Beel’s voice was barely above a whisper. Fucking demons.
“No, Beel, I’m back in the human realm.” He opened the door with a discouraged face. “Sorry, it wasn’t that bad of an idea. It’s just, how did we lose an angel?”
---
Cass flew down the stairs into the entry way as Beel came in from the living room. They’d been searching for Luke, and trying not to alert Lucifer to their search, for the last four hours. They had searched every room multiple times and nothing.
“Is there somewhere else he could go?” Cass whispered. “A creepy basement? Dungeon? A gazebo?”
“No! We’ve searched every room.”
“Okay, okay, this is fine. This is fine. I mean, there’s a lot of angels, right?” Beel nodded. “They probably wouldn’t even notice Luke was gone, right?” Beel shook his head. “Maybe we can give them Alana.”
Cass sighed and started pacing as Beel talked to himself about what could have happened. Her messages weren’t going through, and calls weren’t connecting, so Luke hadn’t gone back to Purgatory Hall or anywhere else with service. Not to mention, she knew Luke wouldn’t have disappeared without a word.
“Wait a minute,” Cass whispered and, without explaining, started running towards the parlor.
Why hadn’t she thought of it sooner? There was a scale model of the House of Lamentation in that room. She’d asked Lucifer about it when she first arrived. Apparently, it had been created as a dollhouse for the daughter of the family who originally lived in the house. If there was some room they hadn’t checked, it’d have to be there.
Cass skidded to a stop in front of the model, scanning over it as she tried to find a room or clue to Luke’s disappearance. There it was. A room she’d never seen before. It made sense where it was, right across from the attic currently holding Belphegor.
From the first time she followed his voice, she couldn’t figure out why there was nothing at the end of that hall. Turns out, it was because there was a hidden room. Well, two hidden rooms if she counted the now converted attic.
Without telling Beel why she was running around, she grabbed his arm and pulled him with her to the missing room. Supposedly, it was across from the attic. There wasn’t anything there though, no bookshelf, portrait, or fake wall.
There were slight differences in the wallpaper markings halfway up the wall. They were faint, the color difference between the markings and the rest of the wallpaper marginal at best. It was a quote in a foreign language. She mumbled the words under her breath, no idea what language she was reading.
“When the sun of morning graced the heavens, his light shone down upon this one, the eighth of the eight?”
“Cass, how can you read that?”
“What?” Cass looked at Beel, his face unreadable.
“That’s written in the language of angels.”
Cass didn’t answer, unsure how she could read it. She hadn’t even known what it was. “I have no idea. I mean, I don’t know if it actually says that.”
“Well, it’s not a perfect translation. It’s Morning Star, not sun of morning. That’s another name for Lucifer and eighth of the eight is –”
“Lilith.” They said her name at the same time. Beel’s eyes widened in surprise, not from the result of answering the riddle, but at Cass’s answer. He stared at her in wonder as a door materialized before them. Pushing it open, she said a silent prayer to whoever was listening that Luke was there
“This is,” Beel fell silent when they walked in.
While Luke was nowhere to be seen, Cass felt pulled into the room. Three large windows took up the entirety of the far wall. For the first time in her memory, she was seeing sunlight. Cass held her hand up, letting out a shaky laugh. It was so warm. She’d forgotten what sunlight was like. Heaven.
“This is Lilith’s room from the Celestial Realm. I don’t know how it’s here, but I know this is hers.”
Beel didn’t continue, his eyes glossing over as he took in his surroundings. This was the first time he was seeing anything of his sister’s since she died. The look on his face was the same one Lilith wore when she’d told Cass about falling.
“I didn’t save her. I watched her wing get pierced by an arrow. I watched her fall to her death. I didn’t save her.”
“Beel?” Her heart broke at the regret, the sorrow, the sheer hopelessness of his voice.
“I couldn’t save them both. They aimed at Belphie and Lilith at the same time. I could only get to one of them. Belphie’s eyes met mine and I shielded him from the attack without a second thought. I didn’t save her. I couldn’t save her!
“Everyone always says that I did nothing wrong, that I couldn’t help it. But, none of them were there. They didn’t see her. I did. I’ll never forget the look of despair when she fell. Belphie won’t ever say it, but I think he blames me for choosing him. He wanted me to save her, and I didn’t.”
Cass wouldn’t have spoken if she had wanted to, knowing nothing she said mattered at the moment. Once again, the words Mammon had whispered came to mind. I’m so sick of people I care about blaming themselves when it’s not their fault.
“What would you have done?” Beel asked. “Who would you have saved?”
“I don’t know. I can’t even pretend to imagine what you went through. I can’t know how I would react. I’m so, so sorry that you do know,” she paused, debating to add the last part that had come to her mind. “And I’m sorry that you have to carry that knowledge with you.”
Lilith had asked her to save them, but the closer she got to the brothers, the less possible it seemed. Yet, the closer she got, the more she wanted to do just that. How do you help someone when you don’t even know how they’re hurt?
Her phone rang before either of them said another word. She had several texts from Mammon telling her to get to the underground tomb as soon as possible. Underground tomb? Why hadn’t Beel mentioned that when she asked if there was anywhere else to look? Had he looked there?
She put the call on speaker. “Mammon?”
“About time ya answered! Luke’s down here and I think Lucifer might try killin’ him.”
---
Cass and Beel burst through the door to the tomb, rushing to Luke’s side. Lucifer towered over his shaking form. He was backed against one of the stone pillars, clutching an old leather book. The same black wings that had once brought her safety and comfort were striking fear in the angel.
“Do you have any idea what it is you’re holding?” The question came out like venom.
“No-o. I, it, it was on that coffin and,” Luke’s voice trembled as he pointed at a stone coffin. A stone sculpture of roses with a place to place the book sat on the lid.
“It’s a grimoire,” Beel explained as Mammon tried calming Lucifer down. “You can use them to control a demon even without a pact.”
“Is it one of ours?” Levi asked. “I didn’t even know Lucifer kept them down here.”
“I didn’t know what it was!” Luke yelled. “I don’t even know how I got here. I was in Beel’s room and sudd–”
The dark aura Cass felt when she’d first arrived grew. It was overtaking the entire tomb now. “BEELZEBUB?” Lucifer’s voice sounded more like a growl at that point. “Is it true you allowed this angel access to the House of Lamentation. This angel who plotted to steal that grimoire?”
As seemed to be the norm, Cass moved without thinking. No one even processed that she was moving in time to try and stop her from nearing Lucifer. She stopped, putting herself in his path to Luke. As she stood before Lucifer, on the brink of transforming completely, she wondered if this was how a young Nestor or David felt as they faced their giants.
“This is between Beelzebub, Luke, and me. Step aside if you don’t want to die, human.”
“No.”
Cass didn’t break eye contact. The air around Lucifer was turning darker, threatening to encircle her, then, it vanished. It was as if a wall had been put between them. Except this time, she knew what it was. The same content feeling she’d gotten in Lilith’s room when seeing the light.
That’s when Cass realized the reason the brothers seemed worse when they weren’t at the House of Lamentation. It was Lilith. She was bound to the house and couldn’t help when Cass was away. From her first day, Lilith had been protecting her. She was Cass’s divine aid.
“How insolent can you be? Are you really willing to risk your life to defend a demon and an angel?” Cass didn’t falter. “Then choose one.”
“No.”
“Excuse me?” She could tell the others were saying something but could only imagine what they were saying. All of her energy was put into standing her ground and keeping her head high “You are nothing more than some lowly human. I was merely entertaining you, there is no third option. As if I’d give you that control.”
“I’m not choosing between them. Could you live with yourself with either choice? Do you think your brothers would ever forgive you for murdering Beel? Or would you rather kill Luke and ruin Diavolo’s precious exchange program? How do you think you would fare disappointing the being that is able to keep Pride Incarnate subservient?”

THE RAZOR CREST SEVEN
CHAPTER THREE
Din eyed Ann carefully, observing her character and physical traits, she was shorter than Camilla, not that that mattered, really. She seemed guarded and capable. However, he noticed how her hands were soft, too soft for someone who was about to do a lot of hard labour, and for someone who claimed to have some farm hand experience too. His eyes slowly focused on hers, he was always able to read a person’s true nature by the look in there eyes, she seemed like a kind person, albeit there was a hint of nervousness in her eyes, but more than anything there was a fire fuelling those eyes. Whether that fire had to due with something in her past or had to do with not trusting him, either way he needed to know what was behind that fire. He needed to try and push her buttons to see what kind of person he was allowing into his home.
He readjusted himself in his chair, it was time to get this so-called interview started, “You want me to believe you have experience working on a farm, with hands as smooth as yours?” He motioned to her hands.
“You can believe anything you like, I’m here because you need help and I’m willing to help”
“You always this difficult?”
“You always this mistrusting?”
“Mistrusting? Really? That’s rich. I’m here talking to a stranger, who ‘claims’ to have worked on a farm when her hands look as though they’ve been manicured on a regular basis all her life. From your perspective this is a job, but from mine, this is my life, and I’m the one who’s inviting a stranger to live here with my son. So yes, I'm mistrusting.”
He had a point, but I also had a point too. Just because my hands looked manicured didn’t mean I didn’t know how to handle hard work or that I was shy about physical work. Yes, I would be invading his house, but I was also trusting him to treat me properly. However, it seemed no matter what I possibly could say, he appeared to have his opinion set. What was the point of trying to start over, he obviously didn’t want me here.
“Listen, I understand where you're coming from. However, I’m here because Cobb thought you needed help. I’m willing to provide it, I’m a hard worker, and I’m stronger than I look. But, if you would rather question my integrity, before even giving me a chance to prove myself then that’s fine. I guess all you guys are the same, you’d rather have some burly …”
“Hold on, there Ann. Take a breath.”
His hand clenched against the armrest at her biting comment, “First, let’s get one thing straight, this is my home. I don’t know what your deal is, if maybe your last employer was a jerk or something, but you don’t get to talk to me like that in my home.”
I let out a breath, closing my eyes, quelling the anger that was beginning to boil inside of me. I was here for an interview, there was no reason for Djarin to trust me. He had every right to question my integrity and who I was, especially if I was going to live in his house. He didn’t know me, and I didn’t know him, he wasn’t my ex who questioned every little thing about me. Making me feel unworthy of being in his presence.
I shook my head, guilt slowly rising, “You’re right. I’m sorry. It’s …” I ran my hands through my hair, “Sorry, I apologize, Din. It’s just … the way you answered the door, like I wasn’t even there … then criticizing me about something as small as my hands, it … it reminded me of someone. I’m sorry, I’m more wound up then I realized.”
Din let out a deep sigh, he noticed how her fingers were wringing against Cobb’s jacket. He needed to test her, but he clearly went the wrong way about it, guilt began to settle in his chest, “No, I’m … listen I’m sorry. I was just on the phone with my brother, he's… let's just say he knows how to press my buttons and always puts me in a bad mood. I apologize for the way I greeted you. How about this, let’s start over again.”
Din reached his hand out, determined to put his best foot forward, “It’s nice to meet you, my name is Din Djarin, and you are?”
My eyes looked from his hand to his face, there was a smirk on his face that made me feel at ease. Once again, he had made me feel comfortable, I reached out and shook his hand, “It’s nice to meet you, Din Djarin, my name is Ann Jones.”
“Pleasure. Now I understand you're looking for work, at least according to what Marshall Vanth told me.”
“Yes. I’m new to the area. Marshall Vanth raved about you, he told me a few things that you were looking for with regards to the person who would take this position. Here’s a few things that I can do, I’m a pretty good cook” thanks to working as a fry cook for three months, when I first left my situation. “I know how to get rid of the most stubborn stains,” working as a laundress for five months, when I left my bad situation for a second time. “I know how to tend a garden,” helps working at a community garden for six months, when I left for good. “I can also help with tending to the animals on your ranch” absolutely no experience for that, but how hard could it be? I mean okay I did assist a veterinarian for three months, when I had to hide after my identity was found out at the community garden, but still, “you know whatever needs to be taken care of around here, and anything I don’t know, I’m willing to learn. From what Marshall Vanth was saying it seemed you were looking for someone who could help in general.”
“Yeah, I need someone who could be available 24/7, hence the live-in situation. There are times when I get called out to help with corralling lost farm animals or whatever. Either way, I could be gone anywhere from a night to a day, sometimes a few days, on the rarity it could be up to a week or two.”
“Is that what you do, track lost animals?”
“Partially. I am a skilled tracker, one of the best out here so during the hunting season I get called on a lot. Usually, I’ll take a hunting party out, find some deer or elk for them to hunt, or track the injured animals the hunters couldn’t finish, before the wolves get them, just depends.” The idea of leaving Grogu alone with Ann didn’t fill him with the same sense of dread as it usually did, when he left him with Pelli. In fact, he felt comfortable in her presence, almost at peace; for a brief moment, he didn’t think about Camilla.
